This is what i Think might happen. Mayweather really doesnt like to give up titles. he only did it for DLH because there was nobody at 154 and plenty of fights at 147. he notify the WBA to tell them he was gonna defend that title this year and he did against Canelo. Unless Devon somehow beats Khan(which could happen) then I see Mayweather fighting Khan on May 3 with another loaded card and some good mexican fighters on there. Mares-Gonzalez 3, Broner-Garcia or Broner vs somebody. Santa Cruz etc etc. Khan does have great hand speed and his taller. he'll do alright for the first couple of rounds then get pounded like everybody else that fights hime. Then Unless Garica wins some top fights in the next year I think he will try to defend his 154 titles against somebody to keep them. Not sure who can pop up and be attractive money making fight at 154 expect for GGG but u never know what can happen in a year. Garcia might have to be the fight but mayweather doesnt really like to just give up titles. so I say mayweather-Khan May 3, then maybe GGG in Sepetmeber which might make more money then a Garcia fight. I feel Martinez will duck GGG so Mayweather will offer the fight. what u guys think??
Seems likely to play out that way, yeah. Why let them lapse? I think it ain't no thang but a chicken wang to Floyd whether he's competing at 147 or 154 (as loathe as I am to ever defend a catchweight, and I'm not really doing that here but simply explaining his mindset, I believe the 152 was more a special case for Canelo due to his large frame and propensity for immense re-hydration) so yeah, sneak in that defense of the former in May and the latter a year from now, since those have become his unofficial times of year to compete.
I think you're crazy if you actually think Mayweather will be fighting Golovkin at 154. Not going to happen.

Hopefully the welterweight challenger is someone better than Khan, and Golovkin at junior middle is just unrealistic.
I don't see that happening. GGG is not a LMW fighter. We've seen what happened when Dawson tried to go down a weight division. He was drained and got beat up vs Ward and then got KTFO and his career is in shambles now. Canelo is the best 154 lber in the world, if Floyd wants to be a legit 154 lb champion he's going to have to beat Canelo at 154. I don't know anyone else at 154 who is a bigger name than Canelo right now.
That's a healthy debate. Lara is good, has a loss to Paul Williams and two draws, but against good competition. He only has 21 fights, Canelo has 44 fights, only 1 draw, and a majority decision at a catchweight to the P4P #1. Canelo is more experienced and has a better skill set, but Lara is no slouch either.
floyd vs khan is a joke fight,please everybody start a riot if that happens!floyd retire or move up,there is nothing to gain fighting khan,garcia etc..okay money is the reason,but who want to see floyd vs khan?it's a horrible missmatch.only challenge for floyd is fight bigger opponents and there is also bigger money and bigger legacy!yes i know floyd is way too small.but he is that good!i don't care if floyd lose,only want to see floyd challenge himself to full potential,don't hate me for that. there is nothing to lose at MW!win and be hero,lose and we know that's the limit.for me mayweather gets more credit even by losing to Martinez,rather than fighting at WW against **** competition for floyd standards.and winning and retire undefeated.
