Rehydration clauses do not exist in this sport. They are created excuses from fans who have a hard time accepting a loss or bad performance. ....or haters looking to discredit a rival of their favorite boxer. No commission would ever allow for a rehydration clause to be enforced.

Floyd is a Jr MW. So is Nelo. I'm cool with catch weight fights but it's a complete contradiction to what Floyd "stands" for. He blasted Manny for fighting Miguel at a catch weight and basically called him a cheater for "draining" his opponents. To see Floyd make this move isn't really a surprise. ......just disappointing. It just proves Floyd never really thought Manny was draining his opponents. ......Floyd just was "hating"...and used his status to take aim at Pac's reputation for nothing more than Manny being popular.

Of course they are valid points, but he is hypocrite because he's doing the exact same thing thing.

If this is true then I'd have to say it's a ***** move and very hypocritical on the part of Floyd. That being said, all the Pacturds who said two pounds was no big deal for Cotto have no business whining about two pounds for Canelo... And I see quite a few of those ***gots doing just that. STFU, you ****ing hypocrites. You can't have it both ways.

The title was secondary to the venom Floyd was spreading. Whether you gave Pac credit for the title or not has nothing to do with the tone Floyd took when going out of his way to give his opinion on the catch weight. Floyd made it seem as though his moral fabric was affected by Mannys fights that were fought at a catch weight. The fight is still a good fight.....catch weight or not. I'll still give Floyd credit for the win and title.

if canelo comes in at 172...he will be over the wbc's limit of 169. there should be a 2nd day weigh in according to wbc rules.

Yup, he should have, but he couldn't. Floyd wouldn't fight unless there was a catchweight. Floyd Mayweather has a brand and an empire to run, so therefore, he takes advantage of every situation and stacks the deck as much as possible against his opponent. That said, what's different here is that he's gone over the top, what makes this particularly desperate-looking from FMJ's standpoint. Not that FMJ is desperate, because he's not, but doing what he did is a sign of desperation. What it shows you is that Floyd feels threatened by Canelo, so he had to make it as hard as possible for Canelo to be 100%. I did respect Floyd a lot for his past fights, and what he said in Cotto. But his rhetoric there only was commendable if he didn't hypocritically do exactly what he criticized Pacquiao doing for Canelo.

That's correct and then he and his trainer went on and on about how easily he could make 168 given that he normally comes into camp somewhere around 180-185 while a lot of light heavies come in to camp weighing 200lbs.

Yeah you said it well JohnnyDrama99. Floyd spins everything too, but it hasn't all been smooth sailing for Floyd. he was sweatin it out when a reporter asked him about the catchweight and he couldn't answer. FMJ's trying to hide his achilles heel. FMJ does know how to prepare for a fight, but I think Canelo does also. Canelo has stayed very humble and hasn't gotten into the war of words with FMJ like past opponents. (for one because he doesn't speak much english) But I think Canelo's James Dean cool as a cucumber way about himself could work against FMJ.

i'm sorry...you can't put your opponent at a disadvantage and then call it a legitimate win. i don't care if it's pac or floyd. that is not what real men do.

    this is the equivalent:
