Ricky hasn't taken this defeat well at all. his pride has been seriously hurt. I feel for the kid, I really do. he's a nice guy, one of the most humble down to earth men in boxing, who's done his community proud and who is LOVED by people far beyond the psuedo-experts and haters you find on this site.

I think he needs to overhaul his career, he's not been at his best since pre-Tszyu. If he sorts out his lifestyle, gets a new trainer who can give him a basic defense, and starts to really fight smart rather than just aggressively, he can be a top 5 P4P fighter.

In terms of sheer guts and determination he's the best in boxing, but I fear he's going to let it slide away.

You forgot to add the turnbuckle into your conspiracy theory.

Clearly the turnbuckle was in on it as well or it wouldn't have thrown that punch that knocked Ricky out.

Cortez ruined PBF's victory. Hatton had a slim chance of winning anyway. Cortez was very bad and I am sure he didn't get paid off but he should have been for that shameful job he did on Hatton.

In a way, he did ruin pbf's victory. He gave the Hatton camp an excuse. That was really a little too strict as far as holding was concerned. It happens a lot in boxing. Ref was pulling them apart even before they even get to hug each other. JMM/PAC wont fight if he's the third man in the ring too!! With that said, hatton would've still lost because PBF that night was a mixture of precision, agility, clever and dirty. Hatton admitted being over eager and it showed.

Just read the title of the thread and had to have a look. hhaahha

  9. I'd agree but Hatton was too stupid to captialize on the open left ribcage Mayweather left for him time and time again - what a chump.

Can't believe this thread has come this far, there is no discussion to be had. Hatton was soundly beaten by the far better fighter. If they were to have a rematch I would expect a quicker KO for Floyd because Hatton would do the same things & Floyd would know what to do. Hatton needs to stop making excuses & fight Witter.

Wow man we argued in another thread whether the judges are worse in Germany or the US but this is ridiculous. Mayweather-Hatton was a good fight, and the referee was fair. Mayweather was not doing anything illegal, he was just defending himself against illegal Hatton tactics. What next, was DLH-PBF fixed too? If you want to see a corrupt referee, see Krasniqi-Brewster.

How does Cortez help Mayweather KO Hatton? It was all Mayweather although I got a little tired of seeing Cortez's face

dont be stupid, cortez didnt cover himself in glory after that fight, but i dont think it changed the fight that much.

ricky wasnt good enough, and floyd was CLASS.

    period.

Yes, Cortez was unfair, although I don't think he was being paid off. Even Roy Jones and Teddy Atlas said he didn't do a good job, not letting Hatton fight on the inside.

But Floyd would have won the fight anyway, he's a better boxer and seemed healthier and stronger. Hatton seemed to weaken in the later rounds, same as he did against Collazo - he should learn to pace himself a little better.

"The guy's a good fighter. But he do lead with his face. It's not his fault; he ain't got a jab. When you ain't got a jab, what do you have to do? You lead with your face, because you ain't allowed to kick" Roger Mayweather assesing on Ricky Hatton prior to his challenge... So Mayweather didn't beat Hatton, Hatton walked into Mayweather's gloves, what's the f*kin difference?
