I thought Mayweather won the fight, but you are one of the typical drones who 100% ignores body shots. De La Hoya clearly landed a clean jab and left hook to the body in this sequence It reminds me of the people quoting Compubox for why De La Hoya won his second fight with Mosley but brushed aside the fact that Compubox mostly ignored body shots in their stats.
Floyd could have stopped Oscar but hes too much of a coward to make the fight. Late in the fight Oscar was a sitting duck with no legs or stamina and was eating shots... Whenever Floyd pressed the action he scored hard clean shots that shook Oscar...he was ripe for a beating but FLoyd backed off.
What is your point? Anyone with a set of eyes can see Oscar landing a clear jab and left hook to the body in your short clip
Bernard missing a shot and landing a glancing shot on that did nothing on Joe proves what in regards to this fight?
Hey surreal, i havent realy heard that many people 'rate' fighting off the ropes, none the less, i believe fighting of the ropes is an artform, that when perfected is just another weapon to your arsenal (and PBF has plenty of them). Just like trapping ur opponent against ring is a weapon (what katsidis should have done more of against casa :blood ). Boxing is about using what weapons u have to get the job done. And he does it.
Those are 2 nice rights by Floyd, but DLH did land two good body shots in that sequence. Advantage Floyd here, but Oscar landed too.
I was rooting for oscar big time, but he really didn't land much of anything. He threw a lot but it was 90% blocked, parried, slipped. He had maybe a few legitimately good rounds, but thats it. Floyd was picking him off and potshotting him all night - even though, to DLH's credit, Floyd wasn't landing that easily either.
I like to see a good technical boxer make his aggressor miss, get him out of position and land some crisp counter-shots. Floyd did it to Oscar, Hopkins did it to Calzaghe, JMM did it to Pac - what came up in the aftermath of these was that the three top p4pers won split decisions. I guess that the judges felt that Floyd was more effective on the back foot than JMM or B-Hops were (?)... This content is protected
