Mayweather doesn't need Pacquaio at this point in his career.

If Floyd wants to be known as the best of his generation, then he better beat Pac. Pac has a better resume and will be held at a higher light than Floyd if they don't fight each other.

they both don't need each other tbh and I'm talking financial. Floyd earns a minimum $25 mil guaranteed even with easy fights like this and there are still a couple of names out there who could make him this kind of money. Khan, Alvarez, bradley, ortiz 2, and perhaps cotto.

Pac earns less but whenever he fights but i heard there are huge endorsement, commercials and other deals in his country that makes his earnings similar to floyd. And he could fight the same names I mentioned. Both fighters have 3 or so fights remaining before retirement.

This fight ain't happening or if its happening it could be both their last fight and the purse would have to be more than $70 mil, I'm sure they both would like to cash out so that leaves only less pay for the undercard fighters

Floyd is already in the HOF and already a top 40 ATG...cmon now...

Pac puts him into that top 20 though..

But Floyd does not need him, no...Floyd retires tomorrow and has a nice looking resume and an undefeated resume.

He's already an ATG, but he still needs Pac.

    Wheres the both option?

Definitely ATG regardless, if he wants everyone silenced, he needs to fight pac.

No need for the both option I guess.

    i dont think so

he retired comfortably and everybody had him as a great

he came back and continues to win

so what changed, does him not fighting pac erase the entire career he had b4 his first retirement where ppl said he was a great

Floyd Mayweather considers himself the greatest fighter of all-time, so of course he feels he doesn't need Pacquiao. Unfortunetaly for everyone else to consider him that or up in that echelon of top fighters in history, he needs to prove it against the greatest of his era. Pacquiao is the greatest fighter he's ever encountered in his career, he's never fought an ATG calibre opponent who was in his prime, like Pac still is. Of course he needs him.

Floyd needs Pac more. Pac's a certified top 20-25 ATG. Mayweather barely scraps by a top 50 ATG list.

It wasn't always the case, because a few years ago Floyd was more accomplished and more popular.

However, while Floyd has been less active Pac's popularity has skyrocketed.

Pac has won World Titles in 8 different weight classes (albeit at catchweights) and continually stepped up his level of competition.

Floyd's career started out awesome but he has changed. He's taken a lot of time off and most people (not *****s) feel he cherrypicks his fights to protect his 0.

As for styles, they both have the style to potentially take out the other guy.

Outside the ring their actions speak for themselves.

Overall, Pac's popularity is greater and his cashflow is coming from multiple places. If Boxing went away, Pac would be fine. Floyd needs boxing and his popularity is decreasing more everyday because of his inactivity and public image problems.
