Mayweather doesn't need Pacquaio at this point in his career.

Floyd's an ATG irrespective. People can argue differently to the death.

Fighting and beating Pac would make him a legend.

 

I think they need eachother. They are undoubtably the 2 best p4p right now and will both go down as ATG's anyway.

If the fight doesnt happen, they both lose out, as do the fans.

 

As much as I don't like Floyd Mayweather as a public figure, I personally think he has a great resume with or without having to fight Pac or anyone else. He is undefeated, has spent about 45% of his career in a championship ring and has won titles in five weight classes. Say what you will about his opposition, but I wouldn't call his best opponents bums. The other day someone on here made the claim that Floyd was " cherry picking" his opponents. Just because a guy doesn't fight the #1 p4p fighter in the world, doesn't mean that he's necessarily cherry picking either. I'd say that's going to the opposite end of the extremes. The only problem with Floyd passing on Pac, is that fans and experts will no doubt give him **** about it for the next century or so. But he's still an all time great regardless of opting to skip on one fight.

 

The thing is, if the fight don't come off, and Pac has not agreed to the tests, you can only blame Pac...

In this day of sports, unfortunately for Manny and his views, you have to be willing to take tests that include taking your blood....

Now if MANNY HAS AGREED (which I hear he has) then this fight will come off, no problem.

 

He doesnt need him to continue to make a lot of money, but he needs him to complete his legacy and wipe away a lot of the negativity that surrounds him. He talks like he does it for the fans but the fans and everyone only want to see that fight and that fight only. There is no other fight for Mayweather and if he truly cares about the fans he should make it.

 

Mayweather doesn't need Pacman because it is a lose-lose situation for Mayweather. If he beats Pacman he was supposed to beat him since he is the superior boxer and it aint even close but if he loses then Mayweather is a joke because he got beat by an inferior boxer.

Pacman doesn't need Mayweather either. Just look at the threads on this board. People are so blinded and caught up in his good guy image that he has overtaking Wladimer Klitscho as the most overrated fighter in boxing. It doesn't matter what Pacman does people are gonna take his side.

 

Floyd is already an ATG, 7 time world champion 5 different weight classes undefeated top p4p fighter.

So no he don't need pac. But yes a pac win will boost his ATG status.
