Thanks for your opinion . Now explain to me how Floyd and JMM fight anything alike, aside from being defensive.

Them both being counterpunchers is big. Furthermore, they're both highly intelligent fighters who mostly feature a stinging jab, a left hook, and and a straight right hand. Both of them are equally effective with both hands. Both of these guys look to control the fight using timing and distance, and both approach fights like it's a chess match. Watch both of them fight, you'll notice that in the first 4 rounds or so, they're dissecting their opponent. Their figuring at the angles of where the punches are coming from, and figuring out how to exploit their opponent's weakness. Now I'm not saying they are carbon copies of each other, but they have similar styles. Hopkins is another fighter with a similar approach as those two. On a side note, the fact that you think Marquez is more fluid and uses better lateral movement is beyond puzzling.

UMMM,you're hardly comparing like with like are you??

Floyd fought a younger DLH up at DLH own weight!

Manny fought an older, coke addicted, shot DLH after draining him down to a weight he hadnt fought in years

He may be referring to the diversity of JMM's offense. I think JMM has better offense than Mayweather, that much is unquestionable.

When is the last time Mayweather threw combinations like that?

But in regards to the thread starter, the reason why Mayweather beat JMM so easily is because he's the top defensive fighter, with a significant size advantage and he fought against a natural counterpuncher.

Against Pac, JMM was the counterpuncher while against Mayweather JMM was the aggressor.

    It's simple.

But if you're presuming that Mayweather could use a similiar strategy against Pac with success, you'd be correct. Mayweather is a great couterpuncher in his own right.

The only questions are if Mayweather's legs are still there, if he'll throw enough punches to secure a victory, and if his chin and toughness is at the level where it can stay up against Manny Pac.

Because remember, it took Marquez two fights to not get knocked down against Pac.

Mayweather doesn't have that sort of experience, so the jury is still out on how he'll react against Pac's punching power and speed.

Most people thought Mosley wouldnt' be detered givin his reputation, but we see what happened there.

Either way, this is the fight that needs to be made and hopefully Mayweather shares your thoughts and the fight gets made.

Hendo you're such a great poster. Really, ever since you stopped worrying about the K brothers and post more about other fighters it's been a pleasure to read your posts, thanks again & keep it up. Appreciate your insights.

Pacquiao ate straight right after straight right against Marquez. You know who throws a mean straight right?

Pacquiao said himself with regard to the trouble he had with Marquez, "He's a counterpuncher. He was waiting for my punches." In other words, if you're not a punching bag and you fight intelligently, Pacquiao has trouble. Floyd is going to beat Pacquiao nine shades of black and blue.

Many people have stopped Castillo before. Floyd couldn't totally dominate him even in the 2nd fight. Does that mean those fighters have a chance against Floyd?
