That is why Mayweather is the number 1 lb for lb fighter in the sport. At no point in any of his fights since he fought Castillo the first time has the decision EVER been in doubt for Mayweather. We saw Calslappy eek out a split decision against a 43 year old Hopkins. We saw Pacman eek out a decision against Marquez. We saw Cotto eek out a decision against a 36 year old Mosley.

Floyd Mayweather is in a class of his own. He dominates his opponents, he boxes their ears off, he never gets hit, he never gets knocked down. IF you are a Floyd hater ***** which a good portion of you are, you can see why Mayweather keeps his status as the p4p king.

PBF is the p4p number one and already an ATG. All he has to do now is start fighting decent fighters again.

Hmmm...Mayweather-DLH? Mayweather-Castillo? Heck, even the Hatton fight was competitive although he did score the emphatic KO.

Competitive is not what I mean. The DLH and Hatton fight were competitive. These arent scrubs. Ones a ATG the other is a top 10 p4p. However, when it went to the score cards against DLH everybody knew Floyd won. After the 8th round against Hatton every body knew Floyd would win.

Neither Cotto, Calslappy or Pacman can boast about that given their recent performances against decent competition. Gomez doesnt count.

The difference is that Mosley, Marquez, and Hopkins are all superior to De La Hoya and Hatton.

lets see...JC faces the best 168 lber...in kessler than faces Bhop
Pac faces MAB then JMM the 2 best 130lbers out there...
cotto faces mosley...destroys gomez and now is about to face margo...

and floyd fights oscar? then a 140 lber hatton?

ya...his level of competition would be easier to beat than them other 3...

but wait he had a SD against hoya...

more and more i wonder why hes even #1. yes hes the best talent...but he definately hasnt fought like hes the best out there fighting and beating the best.

Corrales, Castillo, Hernandez were the top fighters in their divisions, Hatton was a p4p top 10 and the number 1 ranked 140lb fighter in the world.

Also DLH isnt nearly a decade older then Mayweather like the fighters Cotto and Hopkins lol.

Floyds dominance of DLH is alot better then Cotto's survival against Mosley. Floyd out punched DLH nearly 2-1 and they were clean effective punches, he rocked DLH once in the fight, unlike Calslappy who got by merely on punch out put and shaded a 43 year old, no matter if it is Bernard Hopkins, its a 43 year old who knocked a guy 8 years his junior on his ass within the first 2 min of the fight.

Pacman is the only one close to Floyds spot, but again he hasnt proven he was ultimately the better fighter in either of the Marquez fights. Again hair decisions.

Mayweather is simply the far more impressive fighter in boxing.

Please dont mention Kesslers name in my presence as a impressive victory. We dont rate Kessler in the States. He is a 168lb fighter in a division lacking any talent what so ever, and he was dominated over 12 rounds.

Please dont mention Gomez in my presence either as a mark on Cottos career lol. That was a sideshow filler. Gomez was a terrible and never sniff a belt. Sharamba Mitchell on Floyds record is more impressive. Someone posted Floyds career record and its far and away more impressive then Cotto's. Floyds win against a 34 year old DLH is far more impressive then Cotto's survival against a 36 year old Mosley as I said before. It was not an SD it was a clear decision. As Kellerman said, the guy who scored it for DLH should never be allowed to judge a match again.

Full credit to Floyd he is clearly a far more complete fighter then Calzaghe and Pac. These guys aren't really for the most part complete fighters at all. They are more just fighters that are really great at one thing and have enough talent, brains and will power to make it work against anyone. So yes against the best their greater number of faults usually translates into harder fights.

Cotto I'd take expection too. He got stung good a couple of times at jr. welter but at welter he's been pretty solid and has been stung a couple of times but never really been hurt. And I can't remember the last time he "merely survived". You might have seen merely surviving but I saw out boxing mosely...thats pretty impress where I come from. Cotto's the real deal. He is a complete dynamic fighter and has the brains and will to win to be something special. Right now I think that I would put him at number #2 p4p H2H but he just doesn't have the accomplishments to back this up yet.

    Kessler's better than Hatton.

Hatton arguably lost 7 rounds to a B level Collazo at 147. Kessler lost a combined total of 3 rounds against B level 168 pounders in Mundine, Lucas, Andrade, and Beyer.
