That 25 is a big time exaggeration, afaik his highest is 18. He was much lighter for Lopez.

Canelo just fought another SWW who was 170, that's not so unusual if you're fighting at SWW. Cotto has no problem facing either one, and Floyd had no problem fighting Cotto at his best weight

He was 165 against Lopez, and I imagine he'd look to come in similar against Floyd.

 

I agree, I think Canelo needs another big fight just to let a potential fight with Floyd build.

Well here we go again, Canelo has fought only one JMW all his defenses has been against 140 lbs fighters with no credentials and his fans are crying that Floyd doesn't want to go 7 more pounds to fight him, common why the Ginger doesn't fight the Molinas and Lars of his weight division, just because he barely got pass Trout which I think he won, doesn't make him an elite fighter, the kid has the looks but not the balls...

 

I definitely think he's got the balls, and I don't see how he barely got past Trout.

The issue is, Floyd's fought at 154 and has/had a belt there not so long ago.

Canelo obviously wouldn't be able to make 147 safely.

Well if it's true its kind of like this: If Floyd doesn't want to take a perceived challenge at 154, he isn't required to. Rigondeaux doesn't want any part of 126 against Garcia, Mares, Salido, etc and it's fine. He's a small 122 lber. The issue is, Why are you trying to bring this dude down to an impossible 147 lbs? Even if it's made at a CW, it's wildly hypocritical and an embarrassment. It's worse when you have been a pretty loyal defendant of his, had all the confidence in the world he would take this - EZ work - and put it all out there while also criticizing Pacquiao for the same damn thing. It's a nasty burn. It's like if Floyd came out with a bunch of failed PED tests. How do you want me to defend it?

 

Its time for canelo to take other challenges at 154 then fighting 140 lbers or move up to 160 for ****ing sakes.

If floyd doesn't want to fight at 154, then canelo should fight someone else. floyd doesn't have to fight him

How could they realistically?

He's a 154 belt holder, or he was recently a 154 belt holder, he claims to be the greatest of all time, and he's in he cheque cashing business.

He's got nowhere to run.

Canelo's camp don't come across to me, as though they'd bull****. What worries me is, Reynose says that they offered a catchweight but Floyd said no.

I'm desperate to see this fight.

 

People should wait for an actual source for this, before rushing to comment.. But IF true, what the hell? Floyd is crazy if he thinks Canelo is coming to 147, so it's no reason to ask him to.. Just say you don't feel comfortable fighting at 154 and give up the title.
