Ray Hatton after the win over Lazcano......

"By the time Malignaggi goes back in training the injury will be alright - it happens in a lot of cases."
He also revealed that following the fight he received a call from Floyd Mayweather's handlers.
"On the Sunday I was out with my grandson and we get a phone call from Floyd Mayweather's people congratulating us on a great job done, a tricky fight out of the way.
"That was a call out of the blue, which is very, very nice that less than 24 hours after the fight they're on the phone saying, good job, great show."

you know what this means....Mayweather is angling for a big money rematch wih Hatton, even though boxing does not need the rematch to what was a thorough beating and KO in the first one, and at the same time it helps him avoid Cotto and the other big dogs at 147. The guy is a joke these days.

Hatton meanwhile will get leathered again, make a lot of money and manage to still keep his rep. intact.

if Hatton and PBF win their next near-pointless fights, look for this to happen in 2009.

    Not necessarily.

Maybe Mayweather just gives his opponents respect after he beats them.

Then again though, he calls Gatti the most overrated fighter that there is, so I don't know how much truth is in that statement.

If only the stars can be aligned the right way the night DLH meets Mayweather so that DLH somehow beats PBF.... Then Mayweather would have to start proving his top notch status again...and there's only one way, it's to fight the best..such as Miguel Cotto for all the marbles at Welterweight !!!

So all Floyd did was congratulate Ricky after a win and somehow that's an invitation for another fight? :huh Pffft, call me when you got something more concrete than that.

You're one of the biggest idiots on this forum and a piece of garbage. Mayweather's team calling Hatton's team and congratulating them on a victory means they want a fight?, if they wanted it they would've mentioned it as a future plan if both win their next fights, why hide it?

You think Malignaggi-Hatton is a pointless fight for Hatton?

And how the **** does call means that Mayweather wants another fight with Hatton? And why does that mean that he is ducking Cotto?

I think its Mayweathers team just being respectful because of the last fight even though I would LOVE to see mayweather/cotto--who knows when or if it will ever happen.

Pretty sure it will happen if both come out victorious in their next fights.

If PBF doesn't fight Cotto, history will remember this and hold it SERIOUSLY against him. So he can't run from history.

Agreed. Mayweather already has a fantastic resume, no doubt about that... but ducking an elite guy like Cotto would bring great criticism againt a man who claims to be the best who ever strapped on a pair of gloves. That's an action un-befitting a true all-time great.

just when I thought you couldn't get any more naive, you come out with this stuff.
what odds will you lay me that Hatton-Mayweather II happens in 2009? Put your money where your mouth is you insufferable bore.

to you guys who say these quotes mean nothing, it's time to wake up. It's a fight that suits both parties of a number of reasons and the shameless ****s will go for it, wait and see.

Gayweather should be ashamed of himself. Yet to fight a top welter, yet calls himself the best in the world. Pathetic.

The fact that Mayweather called Hatton in the first place suggests that have an on-going commercial relationship, PBF & Hatton both know that by keeping in touch like this there is a possibility of a fight between them in the future, this is sound commercial sense obviously, both fighters mutually benefit from a future fight as Hatton is such a big draw.
You don't ruin business relationships you cultivate them this is what Mayweather is doing...money talks!
