Here's a simple explanation to the theory as to why Mayweather-Tsyzu didn't happen. If Kostya Tsyzu hadn't lost his Ring Magazine Jr.Welterweight title to the unbeaten Ricky Hatton on June 4, 2005, three weeks before Floyd "Money" Mayweather took the WBC Jr.Welterweight strap from Arturo Gatti on June 25, 2005, then Mayweather would have stayed at 140 after the Gatti fight and fought Tsyzu and he would've beaten him the same way he beat Gatti, only Tsyzu would've made it to the 10th round before Floyd floors and finishes him.
yeah that's pretty much the point I was trying to get at in my OP. When Floyd moved up to 140, Tszyu went and fought a fight he already had postponed after his injury that sidelined him. Then he immediately fought a mandatory in which he lost and retired.
Nah, he's already stated several times that he didn't completely control who he fought, at the time. A better case can probably be made for Floyd ducking Harris or Margarito than anyone else.
