Not at all into national stuff???? But B-Hop should take a close fight 7-5, should be a good fight...not necesarily what most would call entertaining...Both guys are at such a high level that i don't think either one of them will find a comfort zone durring the fight.

Exactly! Calzaghe excelled in a sub-par division that was created for overweight middleweights and underachieving light heavys.

Calzaghe is very good, but Hopkins is elite and the difference in class will become clear when these two meet in the ring.

Also, I love the way the group delusional Calzaghe fans continuously refer to something that happened a few years ago when Hopkins is ACTIVELY trying to make the fight now, going so far as to call Joe out at a weigh-in where he KNOWS all the delusional Calzaghe fanboys were tuned in.

Calzaghe is in uncharted waters here and he is going to sink and drown.

To be beat Calzaghe, one needs superior counter punching skills and a great defense. Something both Kessler and Lacy lacked. I don't know if Hopkins can pull it off but it's a tactical fight I would love to see.

That sub-par division meant something in the 1990s when all the best middles jumped up. But someone decided to fight in boxing's worst divison against light-middleweights that Chinny Norris used to beat up. Hopkins won't beat Calzaghe while he has a hole in his arse.

Conteh, I have a great deal of respect for your opinions under ordinary circumstances, but I'm afraid you are a victim of the group delusion running rampant on ESB since Calzaghe dominated the meciodre Lacy.

Hopkins will outclass Calzaghe, and many of you will be surprised.

Joe has the style to beat Hop at this stage in his coveted career

However, Hop looks real good at 175

Calzhage has excellent workrate and is a boxing master

Seriously though...i do think it will be a close fight but, say, Calzaghe wins 8 rounds to 4 and the fight's in the states, do you think the judges will score it like that? I don't. I think Joe will have to win around 10 rounds to gain a 'split decision'...especially if the offical's as bad as Cortez- or the clown who reffed Lewis-Tyson.*

    * And yes I do agree that the same could be said if the fight was in UK.

Hopkins made a career out of it until 2001. That's why no **** knew who he was. He was merely champ in boxing's then-shittest division.

Yeah, that's what most middleweights did in the mid-90s. They won a strap at 160, realised how ****-weak the opposition was, then jumped weight to take on some half-decent fights, while 'super' Bernard took on welters and light middles. His challengers were so ****ing poor, Howard Eastman is regarded as one of the better ones.
