I doubt he's fighting Berto. I think he's scaring us with him so the Khan fight doesn't look as bad.

Berto's fight being a joke doesnt make khan's fight any other thing than a joke too.

If khan is timed by a decent puncher only ONCE at any moment of the 12 rounds of the fight, khan's over and making the chicken dance untill koed. Why do you think he only fights TOTAL featherfisted guys since the garcĂa issue?

Now, think, how many times is floyd going to time him in case of fighting him? aaaaaall niiiight loooong. Even being careful with his glass hands would shatter khan's chin. No point in this fight, HARD cherry-picking. The only reason to fight khan is to end up your career with an easy knock out after several very funny knock downs.

40 year old taking a decent fight on his retirement night
I have no issues with his farewell night

You should be paying attention to brook Thurman Garcia and the like many other welters who are fighting on for many years. Too much talent to uproar about a retirement fight he's like 40 I understand he didn't give you the loss you wanted him to get but neither did Jordan I the losses I wanted him to have its life in each sport a legend emerges most cases he is hated never appreciated until the history books get new pages then you look back and feel different

At least Berto will actually try even if he takes punishment. Its easy to hate on the guy for coming up short in the skill and talent dept, but theres no quit in the guy.

I honestly don't care...especially if it's on free TV. He is on his way out. Nobody is really "deserving" of the opportunity, except maybe Bradley...and he is tied up with Arum. Berto will come to fight at least. Honestly, I would prefer to see Berto vs Khan, Thurman vs Porter, Bradley vs Brook...or any combination of those on Floyd's undercard. Floyd can shadow box in the main event.

im a big fan of Mayweather and being in the UK ive stayed up until the early hours just to watch his fights live even going so far as to book work nights off when he is fighting . . . . hell i even tuned in to watch the Marquez fight despite getting dumped an hour before the fight started  The guy is an amazing athlete and a true craftsman of the sport, hes had a great career and beaten the best each time out . . . . well with the exception of the Robert Guerrero fight which I skipped because quite frankly Guerrero is severely over rated, Orlando Salido whooped him for christ sake.

But to be honest id much rather see him fight Khan/Brook who as of right now are the two best candidates at welterweight for him to fight. If he does choose to fight Berto i might watch purely as im up at late hours anyways and theres nothing on tv at that time so meh . . . . wont be booking the night off to watch it though.

Berto was given gifts against Zavek, Collazo, Lopez and lost to Ortiz, Guerrero and Soto Karass. Only reason I could possibly concieve why Berto/Mayfield were considered is because they are both American fighters . . . . thats the only reason as the last time Floyd fought an American of African descent was Shane Mosley back in . . . 2010? its pure marketing to casual fans and nothing else.

Kieth Thurman left a bad taste in peoples mouths with the Collazo fight whilst Danny Garcia is stuck fighting lower tier opposition after getting gifts in his last two fights not to mention the horrendous display of fouling against Matthysse. There is Timothy Bradley who is technically Floyds WBO mandatory but he is a TR fighter.

Now Amir Khan despite having a tougher than expected fight with Algieri still won without controversey and looked good in beating Collazo/Alexander. Hes had some set backs to Garcia/Peterson but he recovered fairly well Whilst Brook is an undefeated titlist who beat a good champion in Shawn Porter.

    In short . . . . Berto is not a viable opponent. Khan/Brook are
