Mayweather fans... so.. your ok with?

If Floyd does not fight Oscar then Oscar will fight Cotto. Williams has yet to fight a worthy opponent except the over hyped Margo. Cintron is still green and has done nothing to even desreve a shot at Floyd. The only gripe I have is Floyd said he would not fight for atleast a year and now he is fighting in sep.

If he say he won't fight in 2008 then he should not fight and then that would force Oscar to fight Cotto. I for one don't want to see Oscar vs. Floyd II.

 

I feel sorry for my friends over in the states pay 60 dollars for a repeat of a fight that happened last may and probably same result.

 

I'm would like to see PBF/FMM fight Cotto and Williams, but I am o.k. if he doesn't. Floyd isn't a legit welterweight and he's going to be 31 in a couple of months. He's been boxing the past 11 years with no real layoff and has already had as many fights as the great SRL. Floyd's legacy is already cemented. His 9 defenses and domination at 130 represent that. But, as far as welterweight, we all know that he is not a true welterweight. So I would be ok if he didn't fight all of these fighters (which would take him past his prime in doing so) because I would not consider him a top all-time welterweight. That being said he is still a p4p ATG (6 belts in 5 divisions, undefeated in over 11 years, only really been challenged once).

 

No, but thats based on my assumption that Mayweather won't fight after he turns 32 which is a little over a year away. I think this DLH fight might be his last fight. So if he doesn't fight all of these boxers because he stopped fighting, then I can't knock him. If he's willing to fight for 3-4 more years, then he definitely should fight all of those guys. But, keep in mind he basically called out four fighters right after he beat Gatti (Oscar, Judah, Hatton, or Cotto). Hatton and Cotto handlers both kept them away from Floyd and neither fighter even called him out. So if he doesn't fight Cotto, then it's equally Miguel's fault. Both Cotto and Mosley could have had a shot at Mayweather (when Mayweather fought Baldy) but neither seemed to interested until recently.

Floyd did call out Cotto at 140.

He called out Judah because Judah was the 147lb champion. He called out Oscar for a big payday and better recognition. And a title at 154.

 

I don't remember that..but what I do remember was PBF saying that he wouldn't fight Cotto because he was too green.

 

Arum turned down the fight. Floyd then agreed saying Cotto was too green anyway.


Either way, if he did call him out, then he called him out, if he didn't Cotto was still too green and as all his fans say, 140 wasn't his best weight. So it didn't matter.

 

Well I do remember it and it seems like I'm not the only one. Floyd called out a list of guys that he was willing to fight in 2005 and Cotto was on that list. Judah and DLH eventually responded while Hatton and Cotto's management both said that they would like to have some more fights before getting in the ring with Floyd (Translation: We don't want to put our guy in the ring with a prime 28 year old Mayweather, we rather wait 3 years when our guy is 27 and Mayweather starts to slow down at 31)

That being said, if Floyd and DLH both challenged Cotto right now, Cotto's team have already said that they would rather fight DLH. So, there isn't too much to really talk about.

 

If De La Hoya isn't a worthy fight for Mayweather then why is it an ok fight for Cotto to take? The 1st fight was a Split decision although not many people agree with that, Floyd will set it right. If you think its a disgrace or whatever the ****, don't buy it. Simple

 

if becoming welterweight champion and beating an atg in your 5th weight class is "not doing ****" then I dont know what is.
