Cotto is a welterweight and carry's more weight than Mayweather he is definately more suited to light middleweight than Mayweather.. Sorry thats bull****, the Natural weight for Floyd is light welterweight and if he wanted he could probably go down a division to lightweight..

One thing I disagree with is saying mayweather chose to take risk. Why now at 35? Why, when he has always been praised for his incredible performance with corrales, a fight he clearly dominated without getting tagged.

The man is human and he has aged, that is all. But than again, the man is an incredible boxing genius, so slowing down a tiny bit for him doesnt mean much beyond just making a few tactical changes

How the hell were the first two rounds embarassing? They were mostly feel out rounds and Cotto was not getting dominated. He had his most success against the ropes, but to say the first 2-3 rounds were embarrassing is nonsense.

Ill say this, he is impressive in the sense of being such a complete fighter! His legs slow down a bit? No problem, he will beat these young guns at their own game. Now, that is genius.

****, look a rjj and mosley, as soon as their reflexes gave up, the looked lost in the ring

Rofl! Seems you're trying to be objective, trying to create a even headed mindset for Floyd fans and then you get this as your first reply.

PS: OP I would suggest you try invest your time wisely, you're doing otherwise here.

LMAO, did you see the look on his families face??

Gtfoh, I swear, you give people credit for just showing up sometimes. I know you're a bit biased, but really. Cotto was getting hit repeatedly in those rounds. His left temple was already marked up by the end of the 2nd. Compubox supports it, just stop.

I disagree. . . Cotto's style is worse for 154 than Floyd's is. . . Floyd is more suited to fight at 154, not because he is bigger, but because of the dynamics his style presents to opposition. . . He could deal with the power of huge 154 pounders like Canelo, and Kirkland. . .

Floyd making 135? Doubt it. . . Im sure him and Cotto both could squeeze down to 140 is they drained themselves dry. . . But Floyd didn't even want to go down to 144, choosing to give up 600k instead. . . Doesn't make sense to me if he could easily get there with absolutely no hassle.

They are both natural WW's at this point in their careers. . .

to be honest, i thought Floyd was ripping the **** out of Cotto all fight..... playing the rope-a-dope, laughing... cotto was trying his guts out & Floyd was like, "what the ****"... whenever he turned it on he totally outclassed Cotto.

    It was easy

Yup. People conveniently forget Cotto asked for a 150 pound catchweight against Margarito.

In the last round Floyd was moving and he had a much easier time. He fought the other mans fight, he is old and Cotto gave it his all.

I agree he has slowed down, not to the extent most are trying to make it,but he has definately become more of an offensive fighter, when that happens your going to get hit more. I still think he can outbox cotto if he wanted, but many of the casual fans wouldn't approve of that. I do believe he wanted to make it an exciting fight, but I also think Cotto brought a little more to the fight than Mayweather or perhaps the fans were expecting

Now why has he made this change at 35? Do you believe the notion that he just wants to have more crowd pleasing fights?? I can see how some could believe that's bs,I believe age factors in just a little, but not to the extent guys wanna make it.

I just dont see may caring much about what people have to say. That is why I have a hard time believing he made those adjustments intentionally. But actually, either way one looks at it , it is extremely impressive

He chose to stand with Cotto which means he's going to get tagged cleanly. If you check the stats, Cotto landed only 21% of his shots which means Mayweather's defense still held up strong overall. Cotto was missing like crazy at times. Cotto's jab was the key in making it a tough fight for Floyd but that's not really a surprise because Oscar was able to do the same thing. In fact I think Oscar was a tougher fight for Floyd.

If Floyd chose to box and stay outside for the entire fight it probably would've been a bit easier. But that makes for a "boring" fight. He has to choose his poison. He went with vulnerable/action fighter rather than masterful boxer/boring fighter.
