Thurman, Khan, Bradley, I won't mention GGG as people just go haywire, but even Andrade or Lara, but are you guys disappointed in this fight?

People say "Oh he's 38!" - but Hopkins is fighting killers at 50 AND Floyd's style lends it's self to longevity. So that's no excuse.

Anyway... what are your thoughts on Floyd not fighting any of the above and fighting Berto? How is Berto deserving? What does he bring to the table? Why now and not a few years ago?

The Berto fight didn't happen a few years ago because Berto kept losing. I think the fight is happening now because Floyd wants an easy fight, and I think he wants to give Berto a payday. What Berto brings is a fan friendly style that could lead to an entertaining fight. Berto is also a former two time champion who has been in there with some good fighters.

Strictly on merit from current form, Berto does not deserve the fight. It's a disappointing choice as I think Brook or Khan could have produced as much if not more money, would also be entertaining, and would hold more significance.

I was going to spend the 65$ on my kids but thank god floyd has let me give my money to him, I'm going to splash out the extra 10$ for hd too. Just kind of upset it's not 100$ I guess he must be doing this one for the fans, what a guy

For me that's fine if he wants an easy fight. No problem, he deserves it.

Well he's sharing Floyd's ex gold-digger so he kinda has an angle there.

    Mayweather fan here.

I only think this is happening because Floyd and Berto are actually friends. The "beef" they've expressed is relatively recent -- it only began a few months ago if I'm not mistaken. It's not genuine.

I truly believe Floyd just wants an easy fight (and he wants to get a knockout, if possible) PLUS he wants to give his boy a payday.

This is also being done just to set up Mayweather-Pacquiao II. Pacquiao will be back soon enough against some opponent he can look good against, just so Haymon and Arum can take the masses on a deja-vu trip.

While I regard Mayweather as one of (if not THE) best fighters of his generation, I'll ignore this fight completely. A Berto fight might have been acceptable around 6 years ago, but at this point the guy is nearly finished. I think Mayweather could have given Thurman or Porter a boxing lesson instead on 9/12, if he wanted an easy fight to set up the Pac rematch.

I'm not buying it. It's going to have to be one hell of an under card to change my mind. This won't break a million..... Not after the performance he left the entire world with against Manny. The amount of people who bought that fight was mind boggling..... But Floyd failed to deliver an epic performance when it mattered most. No one is excited about Berto and many are stale on Floyd. He should just do the fight on CBS for free.
