sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa has been instrumental in providing him with information on Miguel Cotto's trainer, Pedro Diaz. The Cuban-born Gamboa was groomed in the Cuban amateur system before defecting to the United States shortly after winning a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. According to Mayweather, he's had extensive experience with Diaz, who led the Cuban amateur program for nearly two decades. In fact, Mayweather says that Gamboa has previously faced and beaten all the fighters that Diaz has worked with.

"Hey, I sit down with Gambo and Gamboa tell me about the Cuban trainer. Yo, Gamboa beat all his fighters already," Mayweather explained, reiterating that he's not at all worried about any game plan that Diaz may be coming up with for Cotto. Indeed, Gamboa has been a regular fixture at the Mayweather

Club over the past few months. While many assumed that he may have been there to seek advice from Mayweather regarding his decision to pull out of a fight with former lightweight champion Brandon Rios, it appears that it was actually Mayweather who was seeking information from Gamboa. With Cotto's advantage of working with a new trainer possibly being nullified thanks to Gamboa, Mayweather is unsure of what Cotto has that he can bring inside the ring to impress him.

"When you guys ask me, 'Well, what do Miguel Cotto do good?' Y'all can tell me what he do good better than what I can tell y'all. You know, once I get in there with him, then I can say, 'He do this good and he does that bad.' As of right now, I don't know what he do good because what may work on another fighter is not going to work on me," Mayweather continued. "Like, he may face Margarito; Margarito, you know, his foot movement is not like mine, so he's able to spin him and pivot him. With me, when he pivot, I'm able to pivot and move, and quick and agile."

Does Gamaboa know he has no defense thats no secret

But this is irrelevant considering Floyd is the favorite and Cotto has been on the decline so why would he need any secrets ..

Right because Gambs can read his mind...I can see it now "Pedro is planning on teaching cotto how to punch you in the gut and face" blue print revealed! This isn't football spygate is not in effect here

7. Yeah even if Gamboa wasn't at MBC sitting down having Pow wows with Floyd... Floyd wouldn't be worried about Miguel's trainer or his gameplan.

When you have the so called P4P #1 asking a Cuban fighter for advice it just shows the respect for Cuban boxing and it's trainers.

Interesting, but ultimately I think Diaz will come up with multiple avenues for success which are all specific to this match-up. Could Khan tell someone how Paulie or Judah's trainers would train someone else to beat someone else?

I think the contest depends largely on this dynamic right here.

Doesn't mean a thing.

Any trainer worth his salt, will train different fighters in different ways. They've all got strengths and weaknesses which need to be either expanded on or adressed. What works for Gamboa won't work for Cotto, and vice versa.
