Oh, I thought you meant the article was old, so isn't relevant.

The quote about Ortiz needs to be reread by the people who 'can't believe' that he would appear on the list at that particular time and date.

I'm not sure. I was in my mid 20's when they first started talking about this fight. I'll be at least 30 if they do fight. Right now, neither side wants it enough. I think both fighters want to do the fight, but they're letting egos cloud their judgement. I have never seen anything like this in boxing. Never has a fight made so much sense from both a boxing, and financial point of view that just didn't happen. I can't believe one of these guys hasn't just said **** it, and done whatever was neccesary to make the fight.

The **** it implies that Floyd signed with Arum or that Arum let go of his grip on Pac. What do you think will happen first?

Let me clarify myself. They should do what's neccesary within reason. On Floyd's end, all that simply means is that he should let his people handle the negotiations and trust they will make the best deal possible for him. It makes no sene for him to try to negotiate his own fight. That's like someone being their own lawyer in a court case. On Pacquiao's end, he needs to demand that his people actually sit down with Mayweather's people and try to hammer out a deal.

It doesn't help that Floyd reaffirmed he isn't budging on the $40 million flat proposal. Funny enough, I think Pacquiao actually accepts that deal eventually if left to his own devices. Arum won't. But Arum isn't willing to negotiate at all as it is.

Arum will never be willing to break $40 million with Pacquiao on a fight that could likely do over $150 million.

Everyone thinks people are sick of this and aren't interested. That's only the hardcore boxing fan who discusses the sport on an almost daily basis and watches all fights. We are miniscule. And most are bullshitting about not caring.

That fight comes off and is presented to the public, it'll be Massive. Even now.

It will be massive but it will not mean much to boxing the next day. When i ear its the fight that could save boxing i find it so stupid. After that fight ESB will loose 200 members and general public will start looking for Tyson again.

    True.

I'd still welcome it for sure, but I'm actually more interested in a Floyd/Martinez fight at this point in all honesty. DiBella and Co. are desperate.

I never said that at all.

But thank you once again for drawing conclusions for me that I don't believe in and you wish that I believed. Thank you.
