With the type of money he makes in one night, I'd probably find it tempting to take some long vacations too. Zone out for a minute until he's ready and committed to go through another grueling training camp.

It's hard to complain, really. He came back and fought Marquez, negotiations for Pac fell through and he fights Mosley in his next bout after having been confronted in the ring. Fights Ortiz coming off a career win against Berto, fights Cotto at 154 after he's established in the weight class and crushed his demons against Margarito.

Doctored what? You make sound like there is an actual physical list.

My point was that how a P4P king would even scope out Ortiz before 2010. While he was talented, he was unproven, no PPV draw and not even in the same weight class.
I mean where is Berto on that list then? He was about the same level in regards to talent, resume and PPV (or lack of) sales.

It just sounds very convenient that Ortiz is on that list.
He does not need to mention him. Cotto, Mosley and Pac is DAMN GOOD enough. He does not need to add every name he has fought then to make this supposed list credible. It does exactly the opposite IMHO. It makes it less credible.

Hell if he just said Mosley and Pac or even Mosley and Cotto, I would say - "yeah that makes perfect sense".
When you say X fighter, Y fighter, Z fighter and oh yeah 2009 Ortiz - I go "WTF - 2009 Ortiz? Really?"

PBF's action is always more credible than his words (obviously this goes for a lot of people including Arum, Koncz - even Roach, etc).

    Reg already answered your question.

I agree with the last sentence of your post. That's true of anybody.

I thnk you missed the point that my argument is that saying all this NOW sounds good but if he actually said that in 2009 I bet you even "*****s" would have said "WTF - Ortiz?"

I mean what happened to Berto during that time? Ortiz was all undercard back then, I can't even remember if he even headlined a HBO BAD back then let alone HBO CB or PPV or even SHO.

I mean this is all hearsay.
Any one can claim a hit list 3 years ago. Adding Ortiz just sounds convenient (not taking a shot on the rest of the list).

Come on man, even a hardcore Ortiz fan would say "PBF vs Ortiz 2009?? WTF?"

Also, after the Maidana fight, was there a revised list with Ortiz NOT on it? I mean at that point his ODLH Golden Boy status because **** for even hard core fans (though I myself defended Ortiz still - check my post history). I give credit for the other names but for me saying Ortiz name NOW as if he always meant to fight him back THEN sounds like a PR stunt.

well when its listed as some great accomplishment as the one person has it

    Ortiz #3 WW, WBC titlist
    Cotto #1 JMW, WBA titlist

puts into perspective when listed with the entire story to it

    Ortiz #3 WW, WBC titlist

Hatton and Hoya were a little under 2/1 underdogs against Mayweather. That's about what the odds would be for a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight. Marquez was under a 4/1 underdog to Mayweather. He was something like a 8/1 underdog to Pacquiao.
