Oscar didn't tout his vast wealth while the IRS took back taxes he didn't pay or brag about a car that's paid for when it was really being repo'd.

Don't know about that. Fans tune in to the 24/7, right? And that's pure BS from one side, and some great wisdom from the other side, but none of it is boxing.

Floyd making $60M is a bit stretching it, but I'd say he'll make around $40M, with over 1.5M ppv.

Don't get me wrong, i think Mayweather is exaggerating the amount of money he'll make for this fight, but I'm pretty sure he'll make more than he did fighting DLH. This time around he get's the larger slice...65/35 if i'm not mistaken. Heck, with that deal, he'd probably make more money fighting Mosley than he would fighting Pacman @ a 50/50 split.

Yeah plus remember he still owes the IRS. So I am sure he wants as much of the purse as possible.

I don't think he owes the IRS anymore...didn't he borrow the money before the JMM fight?

No he still owes them. De La Hoya only fronted him 1.5 million to get the IRS off of his back and he had to set up a payment plan for the other I think 4-4.5 million with the interest plus pay De La Hoya back his 1.5 million. He was not obligated to pay it all back after his fights just a lil at a time so I think it was last reported it he still owes them but not as much, I think a few millions last I heard. As long as he pays them something the IRS will not push the issue.

That's why a fight against Pacquiao is not a good idea if the guy who owes you money might end up retiring sooner than expected.

Pacquiao is known for retiring his opponents. Ask Oscar Gay La Hoya
