But how many fighters in the sport would love to be on PPV to flop? And if this is the case then Everyone except for Tyson, DLH & Mayweather & Pac have flopped because these are the only guys who have done a million consistently....
So how many mexican fighters in the last 7 years have fought on either of those days on PPV and did over a million?:rofl
Exactly. Little fat boy calling Floyd a flop when 875k would be the most in 10 uears if you take out all Pac and Floyd fights
The large Mayweather guarantee and significant promotional budget resulted in a loss of as much as $12 million for Showtime for the fight, This content is protected who are these sources?:huh
Sept 14th a new star will be born but lets be fans of the sport rather than fans of the business here we want the best fights out there the best matches not the biggest money fights. Who gives a **** about PPV numbers it doesnt rank you in the end, it doesnt do **** for your legacy or for the sport. its not like history rewards fighters for being such a huge PPV attraction History doesnt give a **** about how much you made, how many PPV numbers you sold. History only gives a **** about the sport, who you fought who you didnt fight....
Oh now hes a psychic....atsch Everyone cares about PPV #'s in the sport...thats like saying.."who cares about the NBA, Im fine with playing for a Junior College"....are you stupid? """History only gives a **** about the sport, who you fought who you didnt fight...."" and who the **** has Canelo fought?:rofl
No official numbers have been released. That being said if nearly 900, 000 tickets were sold it was a success agaist a no name opponet. Floyd holds records for Ppv. Some Ppv do Better than others ask de la hoya. Floyds talents is a great investment and He has carried noxing for years!
History does care more about the fights than the PPV numbers. Ideally, they would be intertwined as the better fights attract more viewers, but that isn't always the case. Far too often Floyd apologists justify a cherry pick by "but it sold a lot of PPV's" as though that was any indication of the quality of the matchup. That's like saying Beiber sold a lot of albums so he's a great artist. Simply not true. I don't know how many PPV buys Oscar generated. But I know that guy was always lining up a damn good fight; the best available. Look at how much kinder history judges him than Mayweather.....and will continue to do so unless all of Mayweather's remaining bouts are of this magnitude.
It's not a success if they lost money, much less 12m. Their entire yearly budget is 30m, 2 of these successes a year and Showtime is out of business
