This gem coming in September is going to make them their money back and yield some sizable profits on top of it. They can only hope it provides some serious momentum into fight #3 or that there's any way it could possibly warrant a rematch. I don't think Floyd is going to leave much doubt in the ring tbh though. Canelo will need more than a couple moments and "Ooh!" punches that land, perhaps a KD and that's asking a lot. Matthysse is a fight that could sell based on perception and hype if he keeps steamrolling people and they put resources behind him to get him exposure. he's still very much in the shadows.
agreed, the canelo fight will make serious $$$, and a rematch would be music to showtime's ears beyond that i just dont see a matthyse, like you say, making the cut $$$ wise
Yeah, but what other options are there? If you can't sell a guy who wins his fights by KO 95% of the time, then you're really ****ed. Put in the effort! That's why I wish they'd do the unthinkable and have the Garcia fight on the undercard to really make a showcase, but it's simply not going to happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-YOmzxW9PI&feature=youtube_gdata_player [yt]W-YOmzxW9PI&feature[/yt] Compared to the likes of Devon Alexander? :think
