Junior Witter has a very serious claim here at the very least. Don't listen to the rabid Hatton rabble......most of whom follow Hatton, not boxing.

I'd pick Witter over Hatton and many others would do the same. Paulie Malignaggi knows his stuff. This fight would've happened already, but Wicky avoided Witter for years, coming up with different excuses alnot the way.

    Here's the latest from Wicky

The Hitman said of his fans: "They don't just support me, they worship me. They feel like they're my mates. Half of them are my mates."

yea because the ring rankings mean nothing!he's at number one at lww for a reason and has no reason to be fighting the likes of witter.as we know boxing is a business and outside the UK,what interest would a hatton witter fight have grabbed before.hatton is the man at 140.it would be like saying pbf aint the best at 147 because he aint fought williams or cotto.

Wasn't Witter the cocky guy that was schooled by Judah in on of the Tyson fight underscard in UK? Guy looks like a fool.

Paulie Malinaggi already said that Witter is the best 140lb fighter in Britain.Yes Hatton is the ranked number 1 but his claim as the best isnt complete until he diposes of Witter. To be honest Witter would have a much better chance of beating Floyd purely because of his style. But just as Paulie noted Witter is in the who needs him club. His almost too good for own good and grossly underrated by most on this forum as they know nothing about him as a fighter.

Junior Witter is actually extremely good, unfortunately the yanks only know him as the green version that lost to a prime Judah at short notice, as demonstrated by a cretin above

2nd best light welter in Britain, and also 2nd best in the world

This is the classic ******ed line spewed by most who have no clue about Witter. You do know that was Witters 19th fight as pro? You do know that Warren fed him to the lions? You do know that Warren and Hatton had him written under contract and reneagued on the agreement after the Phillips bout? You do know that he is Rickys number 1 threat domestically? .. Naw i didnt think so.:patsch

Zab Judah then world champ. Junior Witter 19-0 rookie.Makes perfect sense.:rofl

he was not schooled but clearly lost on points. He was a green rookie and took the fight on a fews day notice, against the emerging star of boxing,,as Judah was then.
He hasn't lost since and has beat some good fighters...recently destroying Viv Harris and brutally knocking him out.
His unorthodox style and slashing, power hooks and uppercuts would cut an incoming Hatton to ribbons.

we shouldn't need to be explaining this again, and again highlights the ignorance about Witter.

This is such a feeble argument! What interest was there in seeing Hatton take on Pederson or Phillips? Or "world ranked" Aldo Rios? (those were Frank Warrens words!!!) Or even Urango? What was the point?

The point is a simple one.Witter has a VERY legitimate claim as being the best fighter at 140.Its a simple equasion make the fight happen. Witter is Hattons number 2 in his division therefore he NEEDS to fight him.Dont harp on all this bull**** about its doesnt make business sense bla bla.. is that a good enough excuse to not fight someone? Who gives a **** what the USA think make this fight happen here at Wembley and we have a monumental unification bout on British shores. The biggest bout since Eubank Benn or Lewis Bruno. Then these 2 men will be talking points in British pubs for the next 20 years! Thats a chance to make history.Ricky knows he must make it happen.Thats why his been avoding the fight since Both fought under Sports Network.

But you probably didnt know that.As your only repeating what every other Hatton turd says on this forum.Furthermore you`ve probably never even watched any of Rickys earlier fights nor do have you known about his famous rivalry with Witter. Rookies:patsch

You know your boxing big fella , Witter was not only a rookie that night but he took the fight on mega short notice. Witter is a really good fighter sadly his style either looks fantastic ( most of the harris fight ) or bloody awful ( the corley fight ). He hits really hard and really fast and has an extremely awkward defence , no one in the world is looking good against him ( not even Mayweahter ) so despite his belt he is avoided like the plague.

I'm a big Hatton fan , but Witter would be a nightmare for him ( but then as I've said Witter would be a nightmare for anyone ! )

It's foolish to say that Hatton is afraid of Witter, when he is taking on Mayweather who on paper is an even worse stylistic match up than Witter, and a better all-round fighter

The problem is that Witter does nothing for Hatton's legacy even though I would like to see it if/when he moves back down to 140.

He can potentially fight DLH for an absurd amount of money in the spring so Witter shouldn't even come into the equation. Surely anyone can understand that.

Witter needs Hatton. Hatton doesn't need Witter.

that's bollocks man and we're tired of hearing it. a win over Witter would've done much more for his legacy than all those tin cans he fought at the MEN. Witter offered himself as short notice and said he's fight for next to nothing, instead they got in Pedersen  .

Hatton used to say 'he needs to win a title', now he has one the excuses have changed.
Bottom line is this...if Hatton thought he had a comfortable night against Witter you can bet your bottom dollar it woulv'e happened already.

Judah also only had 22 fights at that time. Huge difference, eh?

Judah maybe a beltholder at that time, but he didn't beat anyone of note. So we was no veteran by any means either.

And the Judah back then was not really any better than the Judah these days who got beaten by PBF and Cotto.

And who the hell cares if he is Hatton #1 threat domestically?
