None of these numptys seem to get it.Theres an old saying it goes like this:OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS! Hatton has had tons of opportunitys.Witter has had none. But despite being fed to the wolves his become a triple domestic champ, worked his way into title contention, and is now a world champ and is now in line for a possible rightful shot at Hatton.not bad for a kid who was thrown to the wolves by FW.

if he can't get sticky wicky i'd like to see him go to the garden and smash paulie's metrosexual head in, in a nice unification bout. time isn't on junior's side sadly.

I think what you are saying is true. Witter has the sophisticated and awkward style to be able beat Hatton. However, I did read a quote from Hatton as to why the fight did not happen. I think it was something like that he did not want Witter "to get rich" off the back of facing him, he then compared Witter's maximum earnings compared to his average and laughed it off. I think Hatton also personally dislikes the fact that Witter is really very high risk- for very low reward. It is almost like ducking, but Hatton has achieved alot in his career by avoiding Witter hasnt he? If Hatton had have faced Witter and lost, he would not be fighting Mayweather tomorrow would he? That justifies his decision.

I would just like to remind everyone that ranked #1 doesn't mean you have the mosy skill. You can be ranked number one and not BE in the number one spot. Politics and greed come in to play when making your way through the ranks. For instance Malignaggi says that Witter is the best Brittish fight at 140. But he and we should know that Hatton - regardless of skill- has earned his way to the throne. That is not to say that another 140 can't challenge him for his crown and win, but at this time and point, Hatton is RANKED #1. :)

From a monetary aspect this is correct. But if a boxer was calling me out and i thought i could beat him i do just that and shut his mouth. Money doesnt buy unconditional respect. But it can buy a bunch of casual fans who know squat about the man there supporting. There in for a VERY rude awakening on Saturday.

I think Witter could beat Hatton but to say Witter is the best is WAAAAAAAY off....he hasn't beaten anyone like KT or JLC....even the versions of the champions that Hatton faced.

I don't know, this is a fight i'd love to see but i can also understand why Hatton has told Witter to go **** himself saying these 2 have bad blood is an understatement to say the least.Fact is this fights time came and went along long time ago and IMO Witter only has himself to blame.
Many people believe the spin that Witter is a grade A arsehole when infact the opposite is true i've met the lad in Donny and went for a chat even though i thought he'd tell be to do one and was suprised by just how approachable he actualy his.
That said to claim he's Britains number 1 ahead of Hatton is a ******ed claim

So u are an hatton hater and a lover of witter and that unothordox style. the Only time that style as worked out properly was when naz was employing it. I hope they do fight to prove who is the best at 140 and if hatton does win you will come owt with the same shite that hatton did not fight witter at his peak.

great post. I mean i am not a fan of witter due to his unorthodox style but I went to his fight in doncaster and he looked like the real deal. But I woulkd like to see it just to get this bad blood out. I mean we could have a situation Like Benn and Eubank after years of **** between each other they are actually friends this might happen for Hatton and Witter there again it may not.

Witter just needs to get a couple of big wins under his belt, if he beats Paulie in NYC then maybe Hatton will look at him. I know we like to be romantic about it but Witter has to make enough noise to make it worth Hatton fighting him. Witter isn't even that famous in the UK. There's far more money to be made for Hatton fighting Floyd/DLH/Cotto whoever.

Talk of pride over money is all well and good but it's easy to talk about when you're not in a career where you're one punch away from retirement.
