Its a two way street though

If Pacquiao gets embarrassed, most people will say he was overrated

You're not wrong though. If Pacquiao wins fairly, everyone will tear Mayweather to shreds

To be fair, Manny got embarrassed when he got sparked clean. But nobody can ever say he was overrated. His 'Mexicutioner' run was phenomenal, as what he has done since to the biggest names of his time.

    Retired Hatton & Oscar
    Brutalised Margarito
    Damn-near killed Cotto
Had epic fights with JMM, Morales & Barrera
    Won titles in 8 divisions

Far from overrated. Same goes for Floyd, too.

This is probably true but I'm referring to the knee jerk mentality of the mob of fans ha ha

Doesn't really matter- this is a fight that should've happened a long time ago, not during the twilight of their careers + after Pacquiao got beaten, bruised multiple times and viciously knocked out.

Mayweather, even if he retires with an 0, will be known as a ducker who got soft fights for 95% of his career. A guy who "retired" anytime a credible, in-prime opponent, was on the horizon. It's laughable some people out there think he's the greatest because he hasn't been defeated---he wasn't ever really tested! It worked for him I guess- hell of a team of handlers he has that managed to sell this and con the public for so long.

The salt when Mayweather easily wins again is going to be epic. The hatred for him keeps folks watching, whatever works for Boxing.

Hard to get tested when your that much better than everybody. I've lost count how many times it was said that he was gonna duck(insert name), only to fight and make it look easy and then afterwards be discredited. It's been that wash, rinse, repeat criticism after every fight he's had for the last 8 years.

you cant say he hasnt gotten tested when its due to him being way better than the opposition. People are always complaining that he hasnt fought someone who would be the favorite but no one out there since the castillo or corrales fight would be the favorite. I mean the guy fought the unified LMW champion and was the favorite, now he's fighting the 2nd or 1st best fighter of this generation, 2nd or 1st best fighter in the divsion, p4p #1 or #2 fighter in the world and Mayweather is being called a cherry picker! who else would get criticized like that?

It may seem wash & rinse, but he gets criticized for it because it's true and you guys know it. It would be dishonest of me to say he hasn't fought a credible opponent ever, but outside of Saul Alvarez (which I always gave him credit for) or Marquez (though some would say he was undersized for the task) when was the last time it really happened the last couple of years? Since around 2005 when he fought Arturo Gatti it has generally been soft opposition. You'd have to go back to either Castillo or faded Delahoya he fought someone tough. I excluded Mosley and Cotto on purpose because these were fights that should've happened LONG before they ever took place.

That's part of my point - see W.Klitschko on one hand gets ripped apart for beating his opposition easily- the thing is he fights what is considered the best opposition out there, they are just nowhere near his level. Floyd on the other hand has either avoided the best competition or only faced them at a later date long after they've been beaten or are out of their prime. Case in point Margarito, Pacquiao (Pre 2010), Cotto (before Margarito & Pacquiao did a number on him), Paul Wiliams....these are all matchups that could've and should've been made at the time. Instead he fought the aformentioned Gatti, and guys like Baldomir, Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana....these guys aren't really that good. Even old ass Morales took it Maidana! Pacquiao went toe to toe with Morales and defeated him back when he was still strong.

Though i'm critical of Floyd- I don't dislike him or am suggesting he doesn't have great skills, because he certainly does. I just call it as I see it, and in my opinion he is way overrated given the quality of opponents on his resume.

I wish they'd censor the word 'fact' on this site considering 90% of the forum users who add it to the end of their opinions clearly don't know the meaning of the word.
