The politics in boxing was far worse back in the golden era vs today...and even today its a mess. Ray loved the sport but hated what it took for him to make a living being that he was one of the greatest if not "THE" greatest of all time.

Sweetpea's resume has a bit more depth...win or loose he has legit ATG's on his resume and has faught the best of his time. Floyd not so much, but he is begining to get those BIG names, BIG fights that on the level of his greatness as a boxer. Usually the resuem and the fighter are equal....But with Floyd there is no questioning his greatness as a ring practitioner but his resume lacks what MOST true greats have....and that is a resume with wins over his peers. DLH is Floyd's best win at the moment.

Whitaker has other great wins than just JCC....he's got Paez, Mcgirt & nelson just to name a few.

Paez and McGirt arent ATG's. Nelson and JCC are. But Nelson was never a lightweight and that was the only time he fought at 135 was against Pea, and never fought there again till late in his career.

If Mayweather were to beat Pacquiao and Mosley I'd say Pea and Mayweather are just about even.

I agree with this as well. Floyd beating PAC a lone would probably surpass Sweet. Shane and PAC together without a doubt.

A win for Floyd over either Shane or Pac pushes him past Pete. Floyd being undefeated helps his case, too. Even though 2 of Pete's losses and his draw were complete bull**** and the De La Hoya fight was controversial.
