Well, it might be a good idea to prove that he is an ATG because right now according to some experts he is not.

What experts might these be?? From what I've seen most experts IE ESPN and many analysts rank him top 50...ATG IMO is top 150 all time!

How many of the fighters that you guys want him to fight, even have a legacy at their own weight...let alone have a legacy at higher weights. I will give you time to let that soak in. Margarito spent an entire career at welter and could not prove he was the best welter. He just said it after beating Cintron and Gomez...................... He beat Cotto and lost to Williams and got knocked the **** out by Shane(seriously, who the **** gets knocked out by Shane nowadays). Shane is the only fighter with a legacy and with recent revelations Cotto will have a ok legacy. Floyd DOMINATED 130 and defended his title 9-10 times 4-5 years ago.................................................................................soak..soak....soak...

You make about ten different incoherent points, yet still fail to say anything about Floyd's resume above 135, which you even bolded in my original post. Why are you talking about what Floyd did at 130 six years ago when the rest of us are talking about what he could do at 147 this year or next year?

You can write off Clottey, Williams, and Margarito as guys without names who would never have made Floyd enough money to make the fights financially viable. You can't say that with either Mosley or Cotto, and you know that those fights would end 90% of the discussion surrounding Floyd's viability at 147, especially if Floyd beat Mosley.

Why don't you want to see this fight?

Why would any boxing fan not want to see this fight?

    Exactly!

Mayweather is a HOF without a doubt.....but he had a chance, and still does....to be more than that.

He has a chance to be mentioned with the truly elites of all-time......to be in a special fraternity with the likes of Ali, Duran, and the like.....

If Mayweather never fights again......a generation down the line when someone mentions the true elites of all-time, Mayweather is not on the list.

This is what the Mayweather fanboys dont get......you prove it in the ring against all comers and against all kinds of fighting styles.
Longevity is part of the equation.

......and from my perspective, Mayweather has left too many stones unturned!

You prove it in the ring, not on paper.

Well, he's clearly top 150. He's clearly top 100. He's comfortably top 75, and in my books, he's probably top 50. But he has a lot to prove if he really believes he is a great as he says he is. He has the talent to be a lot greater than his legacy leaves him, he just needs to man up and fight the tough fights. Though, now that Margarito has been beaten, I think we'll see him come out of retirement pretty quickly to cash in on Pacquiao after he disposes of Hatton. If he comes out and beats Mosley, Pacquiao and Cotto, he'll go up a long way in my eyes.

Im not questioning mayweather accomplishment at the lower weight class. He fought and beat the best but as a welterweight? He beat judah and baldomir. Both are good but are not consider the top dawgs of welterweight today. Even ricky hatton barely escape with a controversial win vs collazo. Floyd claims he has nothing left to prove when all his done at 147 lbs is beat judah-baldomir and hatton.

Cotto-williams-cintron-margarito-mosley these are the top dawgs of 147 lbs which floyd didn't have the balls to face :D
