He also gets more credit for having been the underdog against some of the guys that Floyd already beat because he's naturally a little smaller and just flat out not as good. I really think he has an undeserved rep for always taking on the biggest challenges when in reality he's been matched up very carefully in recent years.

He wanted no part of the Mosley that ****ed up Margarito and hadn't yet been shut out by Floyd aside from landing one big punch, and Floyd gets next to zero credit for basically shutting out Manny's nemesis (JMM). Cotto is generally seen as a great win for Pacquiao, but now he has no chance against Floyd and Floyd is just cherrypicking.

I could go on and on, but the point is that Manny hasn't fought anybody that wouldn't be looked upon as an easy fight for Floyd at the time that he fought them. Floyd just gets held to a higher standard because he's clearly the better boxer and disliked by most because of the way he carries himself, which leaves many of those who dislike him to search for more to justify their feelings for him.

I dissagree. Age is a funny thing in boxing. Some guys get old quick some guys can go for a long time. Mayweather is one of those guys who can go for a long time. He's still at or near the top of his game. A loss right now should have a nagitive effect on his pound for pound ratting. Both current and all time.

And Shane wasn't "too big" for Manny before Floyd basically shut his ass out? :think

Floyd "moved up and took the chance" against Oscar as well... A younger, fresher Oscar fighting in his own weightclass who also got to choose the gloves and the ring size. If I remember correctly, their contract also required that Floyd weigh in at a minimum of 150 because DLH wanted to slow him down. Oscar's contract stipulations gave him almost every possible advantage in that fight. He didn't pull all that **** against Manny. In fact, he went the other way and made accomodations.

I agree. He's definitely in the top 100 of all time regardless.

Void is void. Void really knows how to beat up women, but he could not knock the last woman he beat up out?! Wonder why?

That would be his own fault for being an ******* to begin with. No matter how you say that he only uses it as promotion.

But just like Ali, he'll be appreciated as time passes by.

It usualy takes great fighters to make great fighters....outside of Pac i dont see anyone that would propell him that far up anyones list....its speaks volumes when his biggest and probaly most fruitful challenge is probaly at 160 or 154 plus....

    I agree.

His status as a ATG fighter ranked in the top 50-75 is very safe.

people talk about him because he is still fighting a couple of years after he's retired people will start admiring him for the great talent he had
