Yea. Mayweather can hit you with a counter-punch you don't see coming and those could be deadly. I think his accurate counter-punching makes up for not having brute George Foreman type knockout power.

    Mayweather is not a puncher...

Speed and accuracy is a good quality, but he just wasn't born a puncher...

It took about a hundred fast and accurate punches to stop Ndou.

He hit Gatti with everything he had, and still couldn't put him down, with the exception of that cheap shot...

And Mayweather is at a higher weight class than usual...

The guy is not a puncher at welter...

    Tommy Hearns equals puncher...

But put Tommy at Light Heavy, and he ain't the same man he was at welter...

Actually, Mayweather has very deceptive power...most of his opponents don't realize how strong he is until they are in the ring with him...ask Hatton and Marquez

Sure, he buckled Oscar's knees, but Oscar didn't go down. I believe you are talking about a round in which Mayweather was laying on the ropes, and De La Hoya was throwing bombs, and Mayweather caught him with two right hooks in quick succession. Those shots didn't hurt Oscar. If they had, he would have backed up...which he didn't. Pacquiao may not have dropped Oscar, but that is because Oscar was being too defensive to get caught with anything that he didn't see coming. I almost positive that if you ask De La Hoya, JMM, and Hatton who hurt them more, all three would say Pac.

i honestly believe that part of the reason floyd didnt try to put marquez away is because he didnt want to risk hurting his hand on that guys noggin...i think its safe to say that a broken hand at this stage of floyds career could be huge has he has the biggest payday(s) of his career looming...surgery and recovery would be detrimental...and hed probably need a tuneup before taking a big one

I don't disagree with any of this, but like I said, he has the physical ability to hit guys with punches they don't see and can't prepare for, and that's all it takes to put a guy away. He just doesn't take enough chances to land that punch very often.

And really, Floyd is no Hearns but neither is Manny. Most of Manny's KOs come in later rounds after an accumulation of damage. 3 of his last 4 fights have ended in late rounds by TKO. Neither guy is Tommy Hearns swinging Thor's hammer and putting people stone cold out, from out of nowhere.
