Mayweather ....Hatton ....Who's your pick?

Floyds got to be favorite, but youd be stupid to completely write off Hatton. He definitely has the potential to make it a hard and painful night for PBF.

 

I definitely think he doesn't cope well with southpaws, and I also noticed it before the Collazo fight against the average Magee, which was one of his worst fights up to that point in his career.

 

DOnt forget that Urango is a lefty as well. Hatton has a massive history of suck against Southpaws.

 

So far he's beaten them all though. Just doesn't look as impressive in doing so.

 

Yeah thats true. Magee did put him down though, and Collazo arguably beat him. If I was managing Hatton Id definitely keep him away from Southpaws. Going up to 147 to fight one was some terrible management, especially as he put the weight on all wrong for it and gassed. I think though he will learn from the experience and come in in top shape against PBF and be ready to give him hell. Should be good to watch.

 

True but Hatton is an elite fighter, and I wouldn't consider any of the guys he has beaten elite. Collazo was very good (unproven though), and Urango and Magee certainly not. Would love to see Hatton vs Judah or even better Hatton vs Williams. Hatton vs Williams is a very tough fight to call IMO. Williams struggles on the inside, but hatton struggles on the outside especially against southpaw opponents as he can't close the distance as effectively. Would be a very good fight.

 

Williams would beat him pretty easily tbh. The physical advantages he has are just too much for Hatton who in essence relies on physical attributes to win.

 

I wouldn't go that far. Williams stuggles on the inside, and Hatton is a shorter fighter, and is IMO is much more aggressive at getting inside then Margarito. The fact that he is shorter will make it easier then it was for Marg to try to slip and duck the punches of Williams. On the inside Hatton would absolutely tear the lanky Williams apart. From the outside Hatton will get belted. I think it would actually be a pick em fight, with the winner being the fighter who can stick to the gameplan the most. Williams isn't a natural counter puncher, and prefers to fight off the front foot. When Marg backed him up in the latter rounds he wasn't nearly as effective. Ricky Hatton certainly wouldn't stay at range like Marg did for the first half of the fight. He will be doing everything in his power to get inside and go to work.

My birthday is 29th Sept and Im organising a **** up day like all my mates do when it's theirs. This year mine will be a Mixed touch footy 7's comp played a few hundred metres from my place Carrara. Anyone who wants to come along then come cause it's always great fun. Registration for the Comp is a carton of beer from each team that will be drunk at my place afterwards or during (whichever tickles your fancy) and then heading out into surfers later that night.

Hatton is going to get stopped by PBF on December the 8th. Dislike PBF if you like that is your prerogative but he will defeat Hatton impressively inside 6-10 rounds at most. Skills win fights and style wise Hatton is ready made to order for PBF. From the available evidence of what we have seen to date from both PBF wins handily and decisively.

 

To say '6-10 rounds' at most isn't really sticking your neck out Olu....it covers a very large portion of the fight.

Come on, give us a more 'concrete' prediction...;O) Say, down to 3 rounds...
