There is nothing in the rule book that says "just holding". Its excessive clinching. Clinching after you punch would be a great way to illegally keep your opponent from countering.
It's not a grey area, it's an outright black/white area. You just fail to comprehend. I'm done with this conversation, ask someone around you who knows a thing or two about boxing to explain you further.
These guys are idiots. Never been in a fight in their life, and if they have, they suck at it. Good luck with their "honor code" in a fight... ridiculous arguments. STOP THE MAN FROM CLINCHING AND PUNCH HIM FIRST AS HE COMES IN!!! JESUS!!! Bunch of pansies and whiners, I swear to God.
I'm so glad there is an audience for this kind of thing. Would be a terrible world indeed if couch potatoes spent time making videos of themselves watching a fight on TV and telling us what they think and no one ever watched it.
i saw Maidana 1, never saw Maidana 2 but Floyd didn't outbox anyone in that fight, he used dirty tactics and basically didn't even allow Maidana to fight cleanly. This clinching business seriously has to be taken out of boxing. Clinching will occur occasionally, that's the fine but the minute it's used as a tactic, it becomes dirty and a cheap way to try and win a fight. If Floyd Mayweather is indeed the best P4P boxer, he wouldn't have needed to hug Maidana 70 times in 12 rounds, he could've run moved, boxed and proven to us that he is best p4p. boxing rules need to change, this has to be penalized. This is as bad as low blows IMO... I'm just preying this doesn't happen May 2...
Mayweather does not have to follow the rules of boxing, he appears to own everyone, the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc...............
:yep the guy is best i've heard, should definitely be on commentating booth come May 2nd. In all seriousness, this was a completely shameful display by the highest paid athlete in the planet and the boxer people claim is the best boxer today. Yes, Maidana was charging him but hugging/groping someone 70 times in 12 rounds is pathetic and shows Floyd's deterioration as a skilled boxer. No wonder Freddie is saying his legs are shot. In the first fight, Floyd's excuse was 'I wanted to make it exciting' but then in their second fight, he resorts to groping Maidana, holding his arms, whispering in his ear all fight long. this simply cannot be allowed on May 2nd. I can totally see Floyd pulling this off on the quicker, charging Pacman, frustrating the h out of Manny.
floyd does not own boxing. the boxing stakeholders actually own him. they make him to someone he is not so they can continue to make money out of him. he just thinks he is powerful in boxing because of his media exposure and money. once he retires, he will clearly see who he is.
