    FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR:

''I could have made this fight VERY EASY, but it would have been boring and I didn't want to do that for the fans. These fans are paying serious money to come out here and support the fighters, so we gotta give them what they want to see."

He's just talking smack. He would have performed the way he always did if Maidana was willing to pose in the middle of the ring like Alvarez did.

BS and if that is true, does he think it makes him seem better. Cause if that is the case all it means is that he is choosing bull**** match ups so he can risk ****ing off...

If Mayweather wanted to fight for the fans, he should have gone for the Knock out.

    He is full of it.

In all seriousness, the same desire to win isn't there. He doesn't have "the urge".

Yeah Floyd is a master of boxing politics when it comes to stuff like this. Its part of his whole persona. However on some level I do give Floyd credit for not forcing that many clinches. He did attempt to maneuver his way around punches on the ropes, and took some hard body shots. I do give him credit for that, but obviously the idea that he intentionally made the fight hard for the entertainment of the fans is a lot to stomach, especially considering the whole gloves controversy. So maybe there's like 20% truth to it and 80% spin or something.

FFS everyon -mayweather said before the fight he was going to fight him in the way he did

fair enough he got roughed up - but he still won... e veryones gong on as if he was gifted a bad decision

86% of boxing writers had him winning - this was no robbery - he fought maidana at his fight and still won

its time people moved on and got ovwer their hate

That's a baseless comment, please elaborate on his lost "urge".

If that was the case, he wouldn't have fought so successfully in the last 6 rounds of the fight. He could've just folded it in after the 1st 5 rounds where I had him losing at that point 3-2.

It was a rough fight, especially the first half of it, but than he made the necessary adjustments, avoided staying on the ropes for long periods of time and just outboxed him to a decision.

Didn't seem like a fighter who lost the "urge." Just seemed like a guy who had a bad gameplan/strategy for the first 6 rounds of the fight.

I agree with FLoyd, he could've made this a much easier fight if he decided not to play possum on the ropes for so dam long. I don't believe Maidana had him pressed on the ropes where FLoyd wasn't able to get out, his lateral movement has always been elite and he could've easily side stepped Marcos at any point during those encounters when he was pressed on the ropes. WHy he decided to stay on the ropes and allow Marcos to nail him with clean body shots and dirty shots upstairs behind the back of his head was baffling to say the least.

If he kept it in the center of the ring, avoided staying pinned on the ropes for too long and boxed from a distance, this would've been MUCH easier for him. And once again, not to take anything away from Marcos because he fought a great fight, but I don't see why FLoyd would've had any issues with him if he just avoided fighting off the ropes. Hopefully it's a lesson learned for him.

Last 2 rounds were close, I've never seen mayweather arguably lose the last 2 rounds of a fight!
