No its not you moron only in the ****ed up USA(when it comes to race) would a harmless gesture by the spanish players be considered racism,it was clearly a joke while what floyd said was clearly said in a hurtful way and with the intent to insult someone based on his race.

 

It's interesting that you bring up culture. In certain parts of Asia, people deem cat and dog meat as delicacy. Hell, it's been reported that Pacquiao's dad once ate Pac's pet dog when he was a child. As gruesome as it sounds, it happens in certain cultures and they don't see it as an act of immorality. That said, is it necessarily a racist remark to mention slaughtering of cats and dogs? It doesn't suggest hatred or oppression.

PS. Marc and Pau Gasol plays for the NBA therefore they are part of American culture.

 

A crime is a crime, don't matter whether it's committed by a black man or a Spaniard. According to your logic we shouldn't judge Hitler just because he represents Germany. As mentioned, the Gasols work for David Stern. I didn't hear Stern make a big fuss about the incident. And the fact that some of you haven't even heard of the situation up until now says a lot.

But when Floyd mentions cooking cats and dogs (which is actually part of some Asian cultures), it's a HUGE crime. Unbelievable.

 

It's a ****ing double standard, don't you see it?? You punish one guy but not the other for doing the exact same thing. I'm Asian and I wasn't even offended by Mayweather's remarks because I'm not stupid - I know he's not a racist. The mother****er was giving shout outs to his Filipino fans before he made that rant. I didn't like what he said, but he wasn't out of line either. If someone made that comment out in the streets I'd choke his ass out. But in the world of sports it's a different situation. It's part of sports culture to heckle and trash talk. We're talking about pro boxing, not The Special Olympics. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen and don't watch sports.
