Someone made a good point as to why it makes sense. He could make 180 million, why would he ever want to return to making just 32m?
Financially speaking it will be the most spectacular end to a career.

I would say both Floyd and Manny don't enjoy the training aspect of it any more.

If he beats Manny, he's never been retiring in September. Not permanently anyway.

He'd never retire at 49-0, plus he craves the attention and he gambles like crazy. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him fight into his 40's.

Him saying he doesn't enjoy it any longer, and giving the impression he's not motivated, is a statement he can fall back on if he loses.

Manny is also going to hang it up soon, Arum claims he will run for president and he has a lot going on outside of boxing.

I think we will see a re-match in sep

Both really can't find anyone else to be motivated for other than themselves. For 5 years they have been hearing about each other and questioned about the possibility of fighting each other by both the media and fans literally every single day. 5 years in the making, both the money and attention is an all-time high(arguably the highest ever) for a Boxing match. There is really nothing more that can be done to further hype this up. They'd have to be drugged to the bone to not be motivated for this one.

Didn't he say that after he got the nod over DLH rather than rematch him?

Mayweather winning clearly will completely kill off talks or any interest for a rematch. If he wins in a clearly close fight then a rematch is possible. Pacquiao winning however, whether close or not, will most definitely guarantee a rematch.

How does he finish his career after Pac?

Its an interesting one. If he beats Pac, who else is there really to fight, and especially if its a retirement match...

If Pacquiao wins it will result in a bigger rematch. Take Jones Jr vs Tarver for instance.

I think he's telling the truth.

No doubt when he retires he will miss the money, and the training (to a degree, as he is a lifelong gym rat), but I think the circus act that it's became/media attention has worn him out.

I think he will retire in September, wait until a superstar comes into the WW/LMW division and then go for 50-0. That or he faces Cotto (if he still the MW champ).

Floyd fight for stuff, for money. He's been rich for a long time. MAnny is fighting for money, but more for his country and people. He has a cause. That is why, although I still strongly favor Mayweather to win, you can't not give Manny a chance.

    Exactly what I'm saying too.
