Why would HBO approve that fight when Gatti was bludgeoned by Oscar in 2001 and just came off a life and death fight with Mickey freaking Ward, especially when they wanted to negotiate a second fight between Ward and Gatti being that there first fight was a classic?! Whats the point of putting Shane Mosley in the ring with him when he was clearly spent already and a Ward fight made more sense??

Exactly but then again whats teh sense in throwing Mayweather in there with him being the best P4P fighter in the world especially if you dont want to see him in there with Mosley?

Sure he was, I wont disagree there, you can also make a case that Marquez, not only two divisons south, but he himself was done when he fought Floyd...:deal

Thank YOU !!!! I don't understand poster like Bladrunner not understanding, that the only champ that wanted to fight floyd at 140 was Gatti.. Nether Cotto or Ricky wanted any part of floyd when he moved to 140. When they refused to fight him he went after the Undisputed welter weight champ at 147 Zab.

difference being, marguez skills are head and shoulders above Mayorga, at any stage of their careers.

But get this Zab wasnt undisputed by the time they fought, and Floyd had no buisness taking that fight neither, he should have taken the Margarito offer grab that belt then fight Baldimor..... but no he decided to take on the loser, and if Manny losses to Cotto I am sure he will still rather fight Pac before MC.

Mayorgas wins over Forrest are bigger than anything Marquez has done

Actually at that time Hopkins was the P4P champ of the world. Gatti's management wanted the fight becasue they wanted to test Gatti's skill level, at that point of his career, against an elite opponent. Floyd is not a puncher like Mosley and hadn't KO'd anyone since N'dou which was in 2003, the Gatti fight was in 05'.

Mayorga would have brutalized JMM at 147.

I laugh when I hear Floyd is scared of Shane. So, after calling someone out for years suddenly one can become 'scared'. Over night... ....ok, right.

If someone turned you down for years and then you become the one everyone wants to fight to make money you're not gonna fight that guy.

It's even worse that Shane and GBP has to ruin a post fight interview to get some desperate attention.

He's right, Shane's desperate... and because he dodged him in the past he doesn't have the right for a major payday.

I'm hoping Floyd's next fight is against pac so that everyone can just shut up and leave Shane back in the dark.

At least until he jumps into that post fight interview, also.

The fight was already contracted between Zab and floyd, so he took it .. Then Brain Kenny and every one with a voice demanded that floyd face the true welter weight champion and that was Baldi.. Floyd was even accuses of ducking Baldi by Brain Kenny and everyone else .. no where did anyone even think twice about Margarito, because he was not the man at 147 , baldi was.

Margarito would have been a more respected fight than Judah, he had a contract but that was also assuming he had won, he didnt win, and Floyd could have easily made a case that he lost his shot.

I dont understand why Floyd wouldnt fight him. If Floyd's so sure Shane ducked him, why would he give that as a reason not to fight him, surely you would just be like ''finally this guy is up for it, plus hes three years older! im in the money!'' Instead it appears he's using the pathetic excuse of, ''he avoided me so im gonna avoid him now to get payback'' excuse which could depricve true boxing fans of the best fight at welterweight. For goodness sake Shane is 4th pound for pound in the world. He's a natural welter. He's as well known as any other future PBF opponent bar Pac. Just get it on!?!?
