NSAC is just the commission, they don't run the tests themselves. The accredited lab the samples are sent to should be capable of doing comprehensive blood analyses. With the drama surrounding this fight, I doubt NSAC would request blood/urine samples from both fighters and then tell the lab not to run available tests for known PEDs.

Why would the NSAC not send their samples to a lab that tests for gh and epo among other things, in particular EPO which numerous experts have said would be the most beneficial PED for a boxer?

Floyd has deveoped a new trend after unretiring!!!!!

The JMM fight, he asked a lightweight to fight him at welterweight, cheated on the weights then have the contract changed in order to make the cheating legalized.

In this fight, have a test done outside of the NSAC jurisdiction (despite the fight sanctioned by NSAC) then glorifies his opponent for being his "*****".

If they are really adapting the USADA protocol, then they should start testing NOW, as the protocol has off-season testing (infact, WADA tests athletes year round, not only during olympics or competition). Testing only during the training period is useless if the fighter knows what he is doing and it becomes really as "empty talk".

Of course not. He did it because he believes that Pac's on something. However, he's currently getting sued for defemation of character by Pacquiao so he can't just come out say that now can he? I think most people believe that the reason he's requesting these tests is because Pac is one something, that would be a reasonable assumption. Now why would Pac reject the requests? Given everything he and his camp has stated, we just don't know.

Too bad the NSAC does not even test for EPO.

So random urine is good enough, when you actually use modern testing techniques. The NSAC does not.

    Simply because testing is expensive.

The Olympic organiztion does not even have the capability to test all athletes, Which is the reason why they do random testing, because it is apparently a deterrent. The athletes would fear using doping substances because of the risk of being asked to do test anytime.

The ideal doping test is an everyday testing without necessarily being invasive. Does the technology exists today? Definitely, as some laboratories can detect anything using urine specimen already (however, those testing procedures has still to be accredited by WADA or USADA and it takes time to accredit testing procedure to make sure that it would stand in legal or court, otherwise, they would be sued left and right).

The pros - it is not invasive, can be done everyday

The cons - extremely expensive (the recent olympics, WADA was able to test 500 athletes for EPO using urine, a minority number)

Take in mind that not all fights are Pac-Mayweather proportions. If the NSAC adopts USADA protocol, then even small fights like figters with 3-0 records would have to be subjected to expensive testing, and NSAC does not have the resources of amateur governing bodies where countries contribute financially.
