Mayweather: I'm a better fighter than Ali.

The funny thing is, technically speaking, Mayweather is a more skilled all around fighter.

Not that it's Ali's fault, and I do rank Ali as the best Heavyweight- but any high level lightweight fighter is more skilled than any high level Heavyweight, and I'll stand by that despite the fact it's an unpopular view. The smaller fighters have to be better all around fighters- things happen quicker, and being matched up with people your own size makes it harder to exploit pure physical advantages without a higher skill level to back it up. They're also deeper divisions by a big, big margin. Heavyweight is the most shallow division of the original 8 in an all-time sense - always has been, and probably always will be.

With Heavyweights, pure skill is important, but you can cover flaws in your game easier if you've got an edge in a particular area- be it stamina for Frazier or Marciano, power for Foreman and Shavers, speed for Ali, or whatever the case may be. I do think Ali is the best all-around Heavyweight fighter, but he tends to get overrated in a pure boxing sense.

Call me a sizist if you will. Pop in the career sets of a guy like Sweet Pea and Ali, and despite Ali having "bigger" wins and being part of much larger events, I challenge you to show me anything Ali could do skill-wise that an elite lighter weight fighter couldn't. The same goes for Mayweather- though I lament that he hasn't really pushed himself to the best of his abilities past 140, the skill level he's displayed over his career is undeniable.

Ali earned his right to talk **** by clearing out his division and not ducking anyone. No comparison to be made here. Move on.

Sometimes I think the guy has to lose a fight, so you stop thinking he's god.

Because I don't take any of Mayweather's **** talking serious. He's bad at it, he stutters.

Mayweather's not god and could easily lose this fight. Just because I favor him to beat Pac or Mosley does not mean I count them out.

In fact, if he doesn't fight Mosley, Cotto or Pac in his next fight. I'll start getting pissed.

But he said better than Ali not greater.
