He just doesn't love to fight and to prove whatever. But he can't stop talking about it either. What's the point - is he trying to convince everyone that he doesn't have to box to be number one? What sort of nonsense is that???

Sometimes, I think Mayweather doesn't really care about legacy or boxing history, or anything like that. But, instead he only cares about the easiest way for him to make money with the least effort. Boxing is a business to him. I'm afraid he would avoid at all cost any war with any true great fighter.

If you have no intention of proving you're the best, you have no right to call yourself the greatest ever boxer. Makes you look like an ass. Mayweather is good at that out of the ring.

Mayweather doesn't go into the Boxing ring to prove he is the best 147lb fighter of his generation, he just says he is the best and we're all supposed to believe it. Muhammad Ali made some outrageous claims in his career, but he then went into the ring to prove it. That is the difference.

Floyd's fans have bought into his hype, and instead of wanting to see Mayweather get in the ring with good welterweights, if Floyd says he can beat everyone, thats good enough for them. They don't need to see any fighting.

I have no idea why Mayweather turned down 8 million to fight Margarito, but his answer about "I'm not fighting to prove to the boxing world who the best is" is unforgivable and I'd be surprised if even Scar or Eze could defend it. It'll be interesting to read their input.
