Mayweather has fought body punchers (Castillo, Hatton), he tried to fight Tszyu, he's fought tall fighters(Pep, Hernandez, Corrales, Hoya), and he has seen volume punchers(N'Dou).

But Mayweather is tricky, notice he traps those guys into fighting in weights that take away, zapps their strengths. I give Mayweather a lot credit for being very smart. His entire family is very smart.

He went up in weight to fight Castillo, and Hoya. He fought Corrales, N'Dou, Pep and Hernandez at the weight classes they were already at. Hatton is the only guy that came up in weight

Is this fight more personal than any other?

MAYWEATHER: Yes. He got into my personal business so I’m going to give him a personal beating. I am always a villain. To me all press it good press. I’ve been on the cover of all the magazines lately so I just say, well put me on the cover.

I’m not going to England to fight Ricky Hatton. Every night I sit home and click on HBO and watch. The superfights are only a few rounds. We have a lot of fights out there. We have a couple more fights at 140. There are two mega-fights. One of them became a WWE wrestling which was the Tszyu-Hatton fight. Me and Gatti, that is a championship fight. Tszyu is down and Ricky Hatton is up. We are going to take Gatti down I will take on Hatton and then I’ll get a little green and take on Cotto and punish him. Then I’ll be the King and go on to 147 to take over ‘47.

I was happpy to see Mayweather beat Hatton. Hatton is a crook, Corrales looked unhealthy and anorexic, that was terrible. I think Mayweather is an ATG, but his managing of his career is undesirable to me, and I don't think he should be considered the greatest because of it. He should let the great fights come to him natural, and not be so selective. I want him to be like Ali, and all the other greats.

Could argue large, volume punching WW's then.

Corrales fought at 130 for another 2 or 3 years after he fought Floyd, so he was fine. I'm being honest here, Floyd was willing to fight anyone at 130,135, and 140. He's not a big guy, and became selective at 147. He was also a bankable star by that time. He was picky at 147, but he still made the biggest fights possible.

There are ogood Mayweather fans.... Reg...Scar...Ring master for the most part. But the rest are all garbage posters who's only contribution is repeating what they've been told, defending mayweather at every turn, and insulting anyone who's deemed a threat. p4Pdabest...eze...sdfinest...all black....pit...bigtime9...The_judge...all worthless and do not contribute in any way. Unless you call making other nuthuggers happy. :-(

Large, volume pucnhing WW's is not a style. Large, volume puncher is a style, and he has fought large volume punchers. He's also fought large guys that could punch above 147. Let's be real, Floyd has pretty much every style except a really good defensive fighter.

The only reason you can say he beat volume punchers is because of N'Dou. But he's NOT the size of a WW, and does not present the same advantage Williams and Margarito would have.

Respectfully, I think the honesty must be made by Mayweather fans. Why does Mayweather announce his retirement? Especially when there are some good fights that could be made. Think about that.

plain and basic common sense. and what volume puncher has mayweather ever faced??? anyway its the combination of size power and volume that would get mayweather beat by margarito or williams and i would give cotto a good shot to.

Corrales was also a large volume puncher. The fact of the matter is, everyone wants to completey dismiss pretty much all of Mayweather's career and define him by 147. And at 147, the only guy that Mayweather was weary of was Margarito. Paul Williams recently built some type of name for himself. Williams was never in a position to be a credible opponent for Floyd. Williams at 147 wouldn't be much different than N'Dou at 135.
