Fighters retire and unretire all the time. You talk to most young fighters and they talk about retiring at 30. Nobody wants to end up like Ali. Floyd is damn near 32, he's a definate HOF'er, he'll go down as an ATG, and he's financially set for life. Most importantly, he has his health. Yeah, he could come back and fight Margo. However, he wouldn't get much out of that fight. The only thing that fight would do is increase his popularity amongst some internet bloggers. Floyd would be a smart man to stay retired. However, I doubt he will.

I also believe Floyd would beat Williams but it would not resemble the Castillo fight IMO.

Pea we all know you hate Floyd. You don't need to flaunt your bias. Tell me an elite fighter that he could've fought that he didn't. I dare you to say Cotto, Williams, or Margo. If Castillo, Hoya, and Corrales aren't elite, then those guys sure as hell aren't.

I doubt he will stay retired too. I think he will fight Hatton II in England, if Hatton gets by Paulie, or he wants de La Hoya II, or Pac.

Corrales was not a volume puncher. He was a pressure / stalker.

Utterly ridiculous to say Reg. I expect this from the idiots, not you.

Fine, I'll concede this. Regardless, he's still faced a large volume puncher

I guess you didn't see a guy with half of Floyd's talent pick Williams apart. Corrales was a better fighter than Williams and Floyd took him apart worse than he did N'Dou. Williams is a good young fighter. However, he would get worked over by Floyd. Tall, sloppy, fighters like Paul are made for Floyd.

Hoya sure as hell was not elite when Floyd beat him, and he struggled to do so. Don't give me that biased **** when you've admitted your bias for certain fighters. I call it as I see it.

Castillo was considered elite as a result of pushing Floyd so close and arguably beating him, he was maybe on the level of a Jose Luis Ramirez historically. Corrales was a highly regarded KO king, but in reality he hadn't faced anything near elite opposition prior to facing Floyd. The best he'd been up against were the likes of Angel Manfredy.

Corrales was probably P4P on the level of a Paul Williams, but nowhere near as big or strong. I'd more than likely take Mayweather over Williams, but the fact that he is capable of beating them doesn't put them on his resume. He hasn't proven himself against any true elites. Cotto and Margarito were there for him to fight, and he wanted nothing to do with them. It's not out of the realm of possibility for him to beat either one, but the fact that he ducked out of there before any real competition could surface hurts him from a historical standpoint.

So shouldnt it be a testament to how great mayweather is that he can even mnove up in weight and stil be effective? Could you imagine Margo as a middleweight? He would lose and if not lose then have a TOUGH time against practically ANY good middlweight.. cmon now..

Considering how bad PW was outclassed in the 1st Quintana fight Floyd would have a field day with Paul's chin ..

Be fair my dude, Quintana hit Williams with some very flush shots and Williams was able to eat them and in the later rounds against Margo he was able to eat some solid shots from him, Williams has no chin issues he has defensive issues.

It was his tecnique that allowed him to find that chin plus combimne the holes in PW's defense ..I never said that MW would drop him or that PAul had a weak chin but agaisnt a fighter like Floyd who has very solid hand speed and some pop would have no problem finidng that chin .. I never meant for it to come out like PW has a glass jaw or anything ..From what I have seen thus far he has a solid chin ..
