If Gatti beat him he would have been #1 like Baldomir was and all of the rest officially recognized as #1 and rematch with Mayweather could have been possible if Mayweather wanted the #1 spot he was criticised for not going for as a Jr. Welter. When there is a fighter considered "THE MAN" and "THE CHAMP" in a division you have to go for him if you want to prove to be the best in the division, defending the title and holding on to that position comes after that.

No he couldn't have fought him after that fight, here's where you get screwed yet again pal. Mayweather had a FAR BIGGER offer in fighting DLH, you think he would pass on DLH and fight Margarito?, the hate on Mayweather would be even BIGGER combined by both hardcore and casual fans, that's a fight Mayweather constantly said he wanted and the reason he was moving up ANYWAY as he mentioned it over and over as he was rising.

A good example is this, you think Margarito will fight Paul Williams if an offer from DLH was put on the table?, good luck answering that.

To have Arturo Gatti as the no 1 WW in the division would be a very lucky turn of events(for him) but under no circumstances he would rematch Floyd at 147.Gatti options(if he would have beaten Baldo) were:Mosley,Hatton,Cotto,him wanting Cotto.Maybe if Gatti won then he would have lost to Cotto and Floyd would have fought Cotto,now that's a dream situation.But again Baldomir was no 1 just by a lucky shot

It wasn't a lucky shot in reality, he was Judah's mandatory for the WBC or he was going to be stripped, so they took him as a tune-up and a mandatory at the same time who earned that position by winning, pretty much like Marg earned his position by beating Cotto. No such thing as "lucky" when you earn a position and make the most out of it, that's disrespectful to deny that.

 

Like I said he should have fought Margarito instead of Judah since he was coming off a loss. He fought Judah and got hit in the dick. He should have fought Margarito since he doesn't do that. lol

Margarito was HOOKED to fight Maneul Gomez on a PPV card ALREADY SIGNED, Mayweather offered BOTH Margarito and Baldomir fights but was TURNED DOWN because Baldomir wanted one more fight to be ready and Margarito was ALREADY BOOKED.
