Whether people want to see it or not means nothing, he was still coming off a loss and Cotto is the man to fight instead of Cotto, you're just bringing up Mosley as an extra name despite being proven wrong. If Mayweather wasn't planning to retire then Cotto should have been the one to look into and only Cotto at that point, no better names to mention for you it seems.

I'm not even talking about the Margarito of 2007. Cotto beating Judah was big for his career which lead to an even bigger fight with Shane Mosley later that year. Many people thought Zab Judah was going to win that fight due to that being Cotto's biggest fight of his career and against a very tough opponent. Well, Cotto silenced the critics and odminated Judah for most of the fight. Even in Cotto's fight against Mosley, many people thought Mosley was going to beat Cotto because they thought Mosley had too much skill for him. Sure, Mosley's not 28 anymore, but he sure didn't fight his true age that night. Now if Mayweather would have challenged Cotto right after his fight against Oscar and beat Cotto, then I would being saying today that Mayweather should have been FOTY easily, but that's not the case.

 

You're saying moving up one weight class in a completely new one to fight DLH and then moving down to beat Hatton are worse than beating Judah and Mosley?

The entire WW division avoiding Margarito?, how does he have a record fighting at Welterweight then?, you're not making sense man.

 

Cotto silenced the critics as much as Mayweather silenced the critics for beating both Hatton and DLH where he had a lot of critics claiming he will lose and a lot claiming he will win and that's the case with most fights. Fact is beating DLH in an entire new division is far better than beating Mosley and beating Hatton is also FAR better than beating Judah.

Yes I'm saying that getting a gift with Hoya(even you admited that) and fighting a JWW at 147 both for paper titles more or less is weaker than beating Judah and Mosley,and Cotto BEAT Judah and I mean BEAT him,KOed him,messed up his face,Floyd just defeated him.And you know what I mean about Margarito
