Tapia, Mizugaki, Beebe have all spent years learning to cope with and check with leg kicks, they have experienced them and elbows, and real cliches. Mayweather has never spent a day on it. Ever been kicked in the leg by somebody who knows what they are doing when you don't? That is bad enough, but once he gets a clinch, starts throwing knees to his face and body? Elbows over his eyes? Mayweather would obviously do much better standing than in an MMA fight, but he has several things he has never seen before and could end up being completely incapable of dealing with solid leg kicks.
How is that absurd? You think Torres can't leglock him off his back? Can't pull guard? Hell, he could simply buttscoot across the floor; what's Haye going to do? If he gets close Torres grabs a leg and either gets him down or works a leglock, if he throws a punch he might land, he might also get it caught and armbared. One clinch and there are kimuras, standing guillotines, standing arm-triangles, taking the back, standing guard pull. Lets not pretend that it would be impossible for Torres to take him down either, from the clinch its possible, and even from a double leg its possible. Being 200lbs and strong does not make you exempt from the laws of gravity and the forces of leverage, the basis of judo and wrestling. Haye's recreational Judo and Torres' profesional lifetime of wrestling and judo are two different things. Do you think Torres would win a judo match between them? Of ****ing course! So what makes it different once Torres gets that first clinch? Torres has fought bigger guys than Haye, who actually know how to wrestle and defend submissions. Haye can land a shot and end it all, but as millions of mma and even boxing fights show, a guy whos only shot to win is one big punch before the other guy can do much of anything is a terribly unlikely way to win a fight. Torres has to make it without getting knocked out before he can clinch or grab something from the buttscoot, the first one is risky but still in Torres' favor, the second would be boring but pretty safe.
First off, What the hell even makes you think Floyd knows or even cares who the hell Torres is?:blood Secondly, all this talk about Floyd getting beat and smashed by Torres in MMA, but put Torres in the boxing ring with Floyd as just a sparring partner for an hour or atleast just 10 minutes, and see how much Torres gets ***** slapped.
Wtf does it ****ing matter if they both know each other? One dude is a piece of **** the other is not. Torres isn't talking about boxing, MAYWEATHER is, you understand? It's a pro boxer insulting MMA as a sport. He disrespects it so much and think boxing to be superior, it's only natural for MMA fighters to invite him to step and teach him to respect the sport. It's clear as day that pro MMA fighters respect boxing, because THEY TRAIN BOXING. While boxer(few exceptions) don't train martial arts used in MMA and have disrespect for it. For example Haye has respect for MMA and he trained in judo and wrestling(i think). So don't give me that **** about "well he'd get his ass kicked in boxing just like other way around in MMA". WE KNOW THAT, Mayweather seems that he thinks so also and it hurts his ego so much that he has to play this facade.
what a dumb quote, mayweather is at a level in his sport which torres will never reach, no mma fighter is even close to pbf's dominance, do you think being the most dominant man in the room (what age are you btw) is lifes most important thing, i know id rather have mayweathers bank balance than be the most dominant man in the room, who needs mma skills when you have 3 bodyguards all packing heat. mayweather is getting 15 mill for fighting a blown up lightweight and torres is struggling to pay his mortgage
david haye has been training bjj for over 10 years and has a very good grappling coach, you mma guys are dumb to the fact that there is no grappling in boxing. haye would **** torres end of
i train mma and the easiest part of mma for me has been able to land my punches once my opponent goes for a leg kick, when a fighter kicks his guard drops even more than where it is, where i train the fighters very rarely like to throw leg kicks at me because taking a punch off a boxer which mma fighters just cant take that well is not an option
I would be surprised if he beat Haye, if Haye had some training the size difference would be huge and Haye isnt a total novice, he knows how to throw people and I doubt Torres could take him down, anyway not really something I want to discuss.. On the other hand. Mayweather would get his ass beaten. :yep
Beebs said "The fact that he knows Torres would have his way with him". That's why I said, Floyd probably doesn't know or care who Torres is. And quite frankly, he shouldn't. MMA fighters don't have to teach Floyd respect for ****. Floyd is a grown man, and if he wants to fly off the handle then he's gonna do so, and their's nothing anyone can do about it. I agree that his opinion sucks, because I box and do MMA. However, Floyd will get his in September, when Machida & Shogun smash the Boxing PPV in the ratings. Floyd will not be able to talk about how he out sold MMA that night with his millions & bull**** blah blah blah. I think there, we can agree on.
:blood David hate has been doing Judo casually, big difference. Torres has been boxing for 10 years, so do you think he would know how to box with Haye? The gap between Torres' mma/grappling and Hayes is bigger than the boxing gap; torres is pound for pound top five, Haye isn't. If torres can avoid getting KO'd before the first clinch or ground encounter, which is no easy task obviously, it's a grappling match, and torres dominates any grappling exchange at all between the two.
Dominant might not be the best word, but all around better man is. Flour has money, that's it. Torres has the love of his family, the love of his community, real friends rather than paid yes men who only cater to his ego. On his death bed all that money isn't going to but him love, isn't going to buy him respect, and isn't going to make him a real man. The fact that Torres beats the **** out of him is just icing on the cake. One lives the life of a real man, the other is a petulant child who's life is so worthless he cries on ****ing television because he is too much of a petulant brat to be a man and talk to his ****ing father.
He's been talking to his father again. What are you talking about? And why does any of that **** even matter? What does his money and personal life have to do with anything? Is he worrying about your personal life? No, he's living his and you're writing about it. Your talking about true friends and all that and that bull****. The only true friend is the dollar in your pocket. That's it. I'd MUCH RATHER trust my dollars than trust my friends, that's for damn sure, and as long you have money and lot's of it, you're good. And Mayweather's life doesn't seem worthless to me. Let's see here. One guy fights on PPV and makes millions and arguebly the best boxer on the planet, retired and still everyone kept talking **** about him, the other is pretty much an unknown that fights on Versus At the end of the day, Miguel Torres can only dream of being as big a name as Floyd Mayweather. He'd prefer to have all that money, he'd prefer to have that limelight. But different strokes for different folks.
haye has been involved in martial arts since the age of 3, and has practised judo, bjj and karate, when grappling in third space in london haye's athleticism makes him hold his own against guys with good records and have been training bjj for 15 plus years torres wouldnt have a hope in hell in a grappling match with haye, torres is at 135 an haye is a huge muscular hw, hayes jab would ko torres and if torres got in close haye has good kicks and torres would not have the size or strenght to trouble haye, as i said haye is known to hold his own against decent guys his own size from space im sure he can handle torres as i said haye would **** torres :deal
come on if your father constantly battered your mother you would hold some against him, floyd is still loved by the rest of his family dearly as he is the one who has shared his wealth, he is the one that provides to the poor in the working class areas of michigan, from what i hear quite a lot of folk love floyd, everyone who has met him says he is a cool guy. when pbf visited london the other month thousands turned up to see floyd train, now if torres was to turn up to train he might get 35. dont go on with that bull**** that he wont have his mates and all that bollox, the man is a clever business man and im sure he will know who is friends are at this stage, torres has the love of the community you really do have some good quotes. anyway back to the point torres is nothing to mayweather he might be top 5 p4p in mma but the guy is an unknown, even in the world of mma he is still relatively unknown by some of your so called fans, as a household name if you mention torres they think you are on about the footballer for liverpool:hi:
