Because if you remove all outside influences and have them fight, Torres wins easily. Yes I realize Floyd is only a boxer, and it is comparing two different sports, but that is warranted given lil joy boy's take that boxers are better fighters than mma fighters.

To win a fight with Torres Mayweather either needs rules, a weapon, or some other outside influence.

In just a fight between two men, Torres wins, hence he is the better fighter. He may not be the better "athlete" or "sports participant" but he is the better fighter, and by far the better man.

I kinda feel sorry for Mayweather. Hes like an insecure 12 yr old.

Actually, forget that. Noone who makes 20 million for sparring deserves any sympathy, ever.

:patschDon't give me that ****. Look at all the things Torres would need to beat Floyd, he would have to use things Floyd doesn't train in or have any clue about. Mean while Floyd can whip Torres ass using only his hands. Which is something Torres does train in, but would get his ass totally handed to him if he drew hands with Floyd, which he wouldn't. Comparing an MMA fighter to a Boxer is a very bad comparison my friend.

Very bad. That's like saying Serena Williams would beat Tiger woods in a tennis match. Kobe Bryant would beat Derek Jeter in a basketball game. A hockey team can beat a football team on the ice. All these things are extremely obvious. Your point leads to nowhere my friend:bart

It all boils down to the simple fact that MMA fighters- pound for pound are the most complete fighters in the world. That being said, Floyd IS a cocky piece of **** (an amazing boxer) but still a piece of ****, that if he fought any top 30 MMA fighter in his weight class, would get ****ed up.

Floyd is ignorant in the fact he underrates the MMA fighter's skills and feels free to disrespect them..when the truth is, if the **** hit the fan and they were to fight it out..he would lose and possibly die. So he, and his nuthuggers should STFU and understand the reality of the situation.

any mma fighter would struggle with the top 200 ranked boxers of their weight and their is your difference between the 2 sports, mma is a far easier sport to achieve in a limited amount of time and thats also based on personal experience

No its not. It's like saying Miguel Torres would whoop his ass in a FIGHT. I am saying Torres wins a FIGHT, not a sporting event.

Floyd was the one doing the whining, and if as you say, the sports are as distinct from each other as tennis is to golf, then it is Floyd who is wrong to say that MMA is the reject bin for people who couldn't make it in boxing.

Torres would destroy Floyd in MMA.
Floyd would destroy Torres in Boxing.

I love both sports, but all this comparison **** is pointless. Anyone who claims that MMA is inherintly less skillfull is just burying their head in the sand. Anyone that claims that 'boxing is irrelevant because MMA fighters would beat them in a street fight' are missing the point.

The only thing that we can say for sure is that Floyd likes attention, Floyd likes whining and Floyd doesn't like MMA. So what? He probably doesn't like Tennis either.

Any boxer would struggle with a top 10,000 tennis player. Do you really think that is a valid point?

I just find it ridiculous to say an MMA fighter is better than a Boxer, or a Boxer being better than an MMA fighter. I respect both sports as I have been training in both for years. But what he said was like saying BJ Penn is better than Manny Pacquiao. It's stupid. That's very stupid.

Too many guys hide behind the apples and oranges example. Both boxing and MMA are fighting. It's not like comparing table tennis and golf.

I agree with everything you just said, Floyd is wrong and has no clue what the hell he's talking about when commenting on MMA, but it's his opinion. But obviously he's not challenging any MMA fighters. Infact, he was on that circus wannabe MMA show the Iron Ring during his "retirement" and said MMA was a cool sport. I also agree, Floyd says the things he says for attention, but for someone to say an MMA fighter being better than him is one of the most dumbest things I've ever read.

Boxers box, MMAists strike(all limbs) and grapple. Who are better at "MMAing"? MMAists. Who's better at boxing? boxers. Who's more likely to win in a hand to hand fight? MMAer.

Read my post. Everyone here understands that boxers would be better at boxing- what I was reinforcing is the fact that elite MMA fighters are better overall fighters than Boxers. That means if they got in a fight (not a boxing match)- just a plain old fight the odds are stacked monsterously in the MMA fighter's favour- because he has more tools and conditioning for a 'complete' fight than a limited boxer.

A good example would be if Floyd got into a fight with for example Kid Yamamoto- he would not only lose badly but would be at the mercy of Kid's submissions as to how far he wanted to take it.
