If is just a plain old fight with no rules, trust me a tweener can end your life. Lets not confuse real life fighting to sports

yeah but a boxer could draw 1st and produce a flash ko.:bbb

lee Murray ko tito with punches. Sunny westbrook landed a combination to don frye when frye had all these weapons to use. You'll be surprised how grappling can be rendered useless in most real world environments.

if fence/rope grabbing was allowed . mma would be a complete mess. imagine every striker would do the rope-A-dope, they never get taken down.

Not really, old vale tudo fights in rings and early UFC fights allowed grabbing the rope/cage. Here is what tended to happen; although here the rope grabbing is illegal, but that doesn't stop Cikatic, mostly because he is insane.

Sigh... Of course-in terms of probability anyone has the chance to win a fight against anyone. I am talking about the MMA fighter has a far greater chance of winning a fight against a boxer in a fight due to greater skill sets and durability for fighting.

    No-ones confused- it's the way it is.:deal

i dont think anyone was debating the fact that an mma fighter is by far better equipped in a real fight than a boxer to say the opposite is just dumb

IMO mma>boxing in terms of being the most efficient way to fight in a real fight...

    boxer = boxing skills
mma = muai thai + boxing ( well, not at par with a pro boxer ) + wrestling + karate + bjj + etc. ...

mma has a lot more to offer than just punching...

Mayweather talked trash about MMA a few years ago and Sherk called him out on it... and then Mayweather ran away with his tail between his legs.

He's just trying to get attention

Since when did watching these sports have anything to do with who would win in a "real fight."

I could care less if Mayweather would "get subbed in 10 seconds," or "Tyson would KO Fedor with one punch."

This is about SPORT. With few exceptions, boxers and MMA fighters aren't meeting in the ring or cage, LET ALONE THE STREET.

Everyone is so ****ing sensitive around this whole boxing vs. MMA bull****. Who gives a ****? Enjoy what you like, let others enjoy what they like.

Yet, some douchebag person comes down to MMA section of a BOXING forum and starts a ****ing thread like that. If you like boxing so much just stay on your ****ing forums. Believe me no one regularly visiting MMA forum goes to boxing forum and starts these kinds of threads.
****, I only read from boxing forums and never post anything there at all.

I am kind of surprised people even post on these threads :)

Really? Are you guys fans of boxing? I would imagine fans of boxing would like to see the best fight the best and for their to be a true champion who proves the dominance he has in his sport by beating the best challengers?

You guys are just following a cult of personality. Do you care about boxing or do you care about Floyd Mayweather's personal financial success? I don't understand the whole "I'm so happy because Floyd Mayweather makes a **** ton of money while not dominating the sport" concept. Hoo-****ing-ray! Floyd is very successful while not fighting Margarito or Mosley or Cotto or Pac-man! Yay Floyd!

I love MMA and that's why I love to see Torres take on the best challenges. That's why I love to see dominant champs like GSP and Anderson Silva clear out all of the competition. I like to see the best fights, not fighters make tons of money not taking on the best competition.
