He's one bad ass woman beater. Hell, he'll even punk a security guard from time to time. Just don't ask him to fight a grown man who might hurt him.

was the security guard a child?

he does show great awareness and mental focus in the ring. the level of focus shows he has great determination.

Also a lot of fighters wouldn't have known what to do against Mosely after he got rocked.

In the uk on sky the commentator Jim Watt(scottish guy whos actually pretty cool commentator and guy, listen to his meltdown when Hatton got rocked by Mayweather for a laugh) was saying he should use his legs and that he was doing the wrong thing staying so close to smother him.

In hindsight was a great move as he obviously didnt have his legs under him. swallowed his pride and didnt try to immediately swing for the fences like most others would have. You have you be one focused **** to think straight in a situation like that.

i think its a shame as much money as his ego has made him and as shrewd a business move it might have been to act ghetto, it has alieniated fans and cost him big fights.

Whether you think he's a ducker or atg the fact remains that a question mark will appear on his resume if he doesnt fight Pac.

After not fighting Margo, Cotto and Pac it would look bad. I actually don't think all three fights were necessarily his fault as i have said before id take 15 mill to fight Hatton over 10 for Margo and Cotto under Arum.
he did actually negiotate with pac and i understand the **** with Arum but in fifty years people will not remember the particulars.

Although my dad always reckoned Ray Leonard was a cherry picker as well(he fought duran, hagler, hearns even Norris when he got demolished!!!)

    He picks his opponents...and retirements.....and vacations...very carefully.

But woman slapping season seems to always be open.

Even as a floyd fan i have to say he deserves all the **** in the world if he's found guilty. Especially after the remarks he made to Diego Corrales R.I.P

His act sells and makes millions. He can fight whoever he wants. The only thing costing him fights is himself.

You are right, he has occassionally showed some heart in the ring and he is highly skilled, but a "true warrior" he will never be.

That aside, his conditioning and dedication to his craft is unparalleled; probably in all of sports. His preparation is always top notch and you can guarantee that he will show up in shape, sharp, and ready to go. I respect the hell out of his work ethic.

There considered his biggest threats because he hasn't fought them. If he doesn't fight Hatton and Mosley then people would consider them 2 of his biggest threats because the imagination would run wild on how Hatton had the pressure that Mayweather never seen before and Mosley had the size, speed, power and chin that Mayweather wouldn't be able to handle. Baldomir had the size and keep coming style that made Judah fold so Mayweather wanted none(if he never fought Baldo).

For the people Mayweather never fought there strengths are magnified and the weaknesses are ignored in order to claim that they were a threat to Mayweather. For the people that Mayweather did fight, there weaknesses are magnified and there strengths are ignored in order to claim that they weren't a threat to Mayweather.

    Example Ricky Hatton

Pre Mayweather - strengths were magnified to being the type of pressure fighter that Mayweather never seen, ignored was his lack of true boxing skill and size.

Post Mayweather - weakness magnified to lack of boxing skill and size while strengths that were talked up before the fight of his pressure style become ignored.

Margarito - strengths magnified he was a threat to Mayweather because of his size. Weaknesses ignored about his boxing ability.

Ortiz - strengths ignored size, strength, one punch ko power, decent speed, south paw. Weakness magnified heart, lack of fights at the top level.

If Mayweather doesn't fight you or before Mayweather fights you its all about your strengths, If he fights you or even in negotiations to fight you its all about your weaknesses.

In order to claim Mayweather was cherry picking you would have to identify a specific common weakness in all the opponents he faced that he only specifically preys on. And since he has fought so many different styles and attributes I doubt there is one.

Hatton, Marquez and Ortiz came up from 140 basically to fight Floyd whilst Pacquiao, Cotto, Williams, Margarito even Cintron etc ALL were already there as, like I said, arguably bigger threats.

Now you have Mayweather eyeing up a Khan fight, not Pacquiao, not Martinez like his loyal fans fantasise about .............. the guy is lining up ****ing Amir Khan FFS. :deal

Only *****s fail to see this pattern :patsch

Exactly he fought, all kinds of different styles, opponents with huge weight advantages, bigger punches, taller, iron chins.
