Mosley was A side. Floyd should have accepted a smaller purse.

Name a fight where Floyd was more negative.

And no, he didn't win. Pac was the aggressor, landed the more meaningful punches, was tit-for-tat on the less meaningful shots, and authored the only 2 violent sequences of the fight of which Mayweather was on the receiving end of numerous flush power shots.

    :deal:

This win at all costs mentality among Floyd apologists ignores context. Nobody has ever been given this much credit for beating over the hill greats since Marciano. And even his biggest fans wouldn't dare and try and claim he beat anything, but a walking ghost of Joe Louis.

Floyd fans act like Mayweather beat Marquez at 126. Schooled a SFW version of Pac, when actually that wasnt Floyd who did that, it was Morales. They act like he shut out a prime Mosley and taught a peak DLH how to fight.

    It's astonishing.

Not even the biggest Pac fans bang on his knockouts of Morales and his schooling of Mosley. Even the most die hard Pac fan doesn't drool over defeating way over the hill or drained greats.

@tinman give it a rest. There is no point in time where a) Mayweather & Mosley were close in weight and b) Mosley would've had a prayer of being the A-side. It doesn't exist, you're looking to saddle & ride a unicorn.

You're talking about turn of the century? Dude, you're matching a super feather with a WELTERWEIGHT. And don't give me "oh, well, Manny jumped weights, so..." because a) Manny is unique in that respect even among his peers in the ATG pantheon and b) he never skipped ahead by a margin of 17 goddamn lbs, as PBF would've had to ascend in 2000, from super feather to welter to chase SSM!!!

By the time they were campaigning in proximity in weight, Floyd was already the bigger name and deserving A-side, like it or not.

oh IB, you are wasting your breathe and energy. Floyd haters will never ever give him the credit. But, the bank account definitely gave him credit! About a billion dollars worth of it!HAHA

I've never seen anybody besides Marciano receive that much appreciation for defeating over the hill greats since Marciano.

Like I said its astonishing. And you're guilty of what I'm saying. You praise Floyd extensively for beating well over the hill Mosley.

Pac beat well over the hill Mosley too. But damn, I forget Pac ever fought Mosley until somebody brings it up.

I already said FMJ is a great fighter what are these guys seeking? For me to put him on the same level as Hagler and RJJ? Why? Did Floyd beat Toney and Hearns???

I cant do it. What's his signature win?

Okay, remind me which version of Shane was coming directly off destroying a Margarito that had just taken Cotto's virginity? Was it the version that Pac fought. Oh okay then well in that case I concede your poi-

Rare breed for sure. The discipline to stay in shape for 20 years.. no drugs, no food binging.
And didn't do like Ali or RJJ (depend on talent alone) He developed skill overtime.
Has fought pretty much every style.
While a person can nitpick who he should've fought or when...that's applicable to anyone's resume from 1880s pugilists till today.

For me I always questioned what would've happened had he fought Paul Williams who averaged near 90 punches a round from all angles. Since Floyd doesn't have Maravilla power, I'm sure PW wouldn't be cautious- as usual.
Skills IMO isn't to be considered against him; he's the consummate boxer.

Rather a contrast of styles, someone who don't give a phuck...Like Maidana or Castillo who brought the pressure.
He was my choice to upset Floyd, too active in every round and can throw from a ridiculous reach.

Anyone remember the headlock he had WInky in...and threw the punch from Winky's right side & landed the punch from other side of Winky's head? LMAO!

The greatest businessman for himself, kudos the way he navigated his career, fighting on his terms. Doesnt bother me, cause I've only paid for 2 Floyd PPVs.

Castillo, Corrales, Canelo, Hatton, Pacquiao, are all signature wins
Judah, Cotto, Oscar DLH, Genaro Hernandez, Mosley, are all very good wins
put them all together, and the fact that Floyd beat them all easy, makes him TBE

It sounds like you're trying to make no distinction between a 2010 Mosley and 2000 Mosley.

That's a false equivalency. It just is. I mean it is.

Uhhhhh you do realise its basically accepted fact that DLH and mosley both avoided floyd in their primes due to floyd being very high risk and pretty low reward.... floyd had to go to drastic measures to get the DLH fight made when it was. His then promoter bob arum said there was no money in the fight (floyd wanted 20m guarentee). Google search bob arum "know when to hold em know when to fold them"
