So do you think his needle excuse was bull****? Its true they had somewhat similar pull around that time but it was definitely a fair request for someone who came up in weight so fast and knocking people out. It's not like may wasn't gonna do those same tests. If pac really wanted the fight, he would have easily taken the fifty fifty . Did odst and be done with it. Agree? Would Ali, srr or hagler say no to hundreds of millions because osdt? No he said he would cut his finger off for a million bucks
All of this is true, but let the record show that he had really incredible, underrated head movement. For every shot he absorbed, he dodged several others. Smokin' Joe was a heck of a boxer in addition to being a hell of a fighter.
There's a video of Pac saying that he felt blood taken from him close to fight night weakened him in the Morales fight. This is on video. Austin Trout recently said that having blood drawn weakens him. And there's a REASON why they make you stay for 20 minutes and give you glucose drinks and snacks before letting you leave after you've donated blood.
BTW @IntentionalButt , Inoue-McDonnell has landed on ESPN+. So for $4.99, you can watch Inoue-McDonnell and Crawford-Horn in HD.
This could easily spin the other way that May is the one avoiding the work and rejected a 50% payday.
That's just it, though, about eight years ago I came to an epiphany and realized the PBF nuthuggers at one end of the spectrum (represented by @MVC! in a semi-serious, played up for comedic effect guise, and more credibly by @Pimp C) are far less irrational, slaves to emotion, impervious to reason, immature and obnoxious than his extremist haters at the other end. The latter group is and has for several years remained worthier of trolling.
Floyd is his own worst enemy at times. He put in a great performance against JMM, but we know he deliberately cheated him on the scales. So that will always be remembered. And in my honest opinion, it was completely unecessary, just like the C-W with Canelo. There was no need to do either of those things, and it took the shine off of the wins, whilst also giving fuel to the haters. Regarding his fight with Shane, I can't personally give him huge credit for that, because Shane was faded at that point.
Pimp C can reason. MVC cannot. As far as Mayweathers haters being emotional and irrational sure some are. But a lot is are just simply saying, no he is not TBE. Simple as that. Cuz he just doesn't have the wins. You have people here who really believe FMJ knocked out a Roberto Duran clone.
I watch a lot of tape of old timer boxers but man Floyd (especially prime) is definitely very special. You can say his resume isn't perhaps the best (not to say it isn't good, but there are boxers with achievements who overshadow his). But his skillset is undeniably one of the, if not the most complete ever... Lightning quick hands, probably the highest ring IQ ever, amazing footwork, top 3 greatest defense... Even if you can get past his defense, oh wait he's got an iron chin as well! So there's virtually almost no chance of outboxing him, but even stopping him is near impossible... It's almost unfair fighting him. One of those fighters who simply doesn't seem to have any weaknesses at all.
I agree with the first paragraph of this post. Mayweather is indeed an ATG and has a complete tool bag of skills. Yet his reputation outpaces his resume. That's been my main gripe about FMJ for years on this forum. He simply doesn't have the resume to warrant his TBE claims. Nor does he have the resume to put him in the class of somebody like Duran, Leonard or hell even some OTHER fighter of the 2000s. Pointing out that FMJ resume doesn't stack up to the upper crust of ATGs will get you flamed out of your mind. And for what? Saying he didn't beat other greats in their prime makes you an irrational hater? Nonsense.
He really master his boxing to the T. He can win rounds easier than most fighters due to his quickness, clean punching and defense. I gave few fighters his size like Duran, Pryor and Pac a good chance. Even that they have to performed at their best. Only fighters bigger and equally talented will be favoured to beat him, and they mostly ATG welters. Some will call me crazy, I thought for a smaller man, Loma has a good style to out point him.
