Which other sportman has been at the top level for as long as floyd?

You could argue he has been a top figher since he beat genaro in 98. thats 13 years of being an elite sportsman. pretty impressive by anyones standards.

its not as easy as that though.

yes he hasnt lost as a pro. but neither did calzaghe. neither did ottke. its who you fight and who you beat.

yes floyd has beaten better fighters than calzaghe or ottke. but there are clearly a number of fights he deliberately avoided along the way. not to mention the shameful pac ducking thats going on now. credit for fighting ortiz but pac is the fight we all want!

also his inactivity over the last 4 years has been a pain in the ass too.

hes a very good sportman no doubt. and talent wise one of the most talented in the world. but as a whole package hes not up there

Mayweather is only one of the top sportsmen in the US. To the rest of the world he's the guy that's ducking Pac.

What's even more impressive, is that he's done it by going on vacations and not even stepping in the ring most of the time. Name one athlete that can do that. Name one. Ok then.

Hopkins has been a top sportsman since 1993 (first title shot)

Pac since 1999 (first title victory)

Athlete would be the more accurate description - not sportsman.

Boxing is the toughest sport. And for 13 years Floyd has dominate and never lost.

Easily one of the most accomplished sportsmen of this era.

Did you count the years when he was retired?
