During his workout sessions he was looking for excuses to take breaks by talking. In order to get in shape intensity is the key and not a long drawn out workout full of rest. You could see every time he was getting tired, he would find something to talk about. He did not look his usual self on the speed bag. He was missing quite a few times and then he would say something to distract from the fact that he was missing the bag. All be above might be because he was holding back because the cameras were on but his previous PUBLIC workouts for other fights looked more intensive to me. anybody can workout for a very long time if they keep taking discussion breaks.
It's a media workout he's not supposed to go all out and he was pretty intense for a media workout still. ANd we never got to see this much footage of him training before. We got an hour and a half of him doing a light workout Here is Floyd 3 days before the fight [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_KIauNmwhw&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
That's the picture from Mayweather v Mosley btw ... Not saying that he looks out of shape now .... but that's the wrong picture
All your responses remind me of when Ali was past his prime and about to get schooled. A reporter asked him if should really be fighting at this point. Ali then took off his shirt and emphasized to the reporter that he looked like he was in excellent shape. RJJ looks like he is excellent shape for all his Glass Jaw appearances. The mayweather genes will always make Floyd look ripped even though he might be out of shape. Have you not seen Mayweather snr without his shirt. He looks ripped too.
Yes I saw your post. You make a good point and I might be wrong. However, I could not help but notice Mayweather consistently taking breaks. The workout while long completely lacked intensity. I was reading an article about a fighter, I forgot who, talking about when you are past it, you do 7 reps instead of 10 and tell yourself you should still be alright. I might be wrong and I am willing to eat crow on this but he doesn't look like the same Mayweather training to me.
He looks pretty good. He beats this guy in his sleep. Top shape. What for --- we are going home early.
